*Ardylan watched Ka's bizarre behavior from the treeline at the edge of the city, the look of worry on his face obvious. He'd come to expect the Archdruid to be cold and distant... but not mean, and not looking so upset.
This behavior was so odd it caused him to freeze in place for a moment as he struggled to decide what to do. Is this one of those "druid things" that he wouldn't understand? Should he stay out of the way? Would following make Ka angry? After losing a good amount of time and distance to his hesitation, Ardylan decides to follow.
Ardylan is a terrible tracker and quickly loses the trail - however, this doesn't stop him. He pulls out a map from his bag, one that he drew himself based on his travels through the area. There is only one place he can think of that Ka would go - his grove.
About a month ago Huron offered to show Ardylan around in some of the deeper parts of the forest - including Starwood and a place Huron identified as the Archdruid's grove. Ardylan never told Ka this bit of information because he sort of felt like he had just walked into someone's home unannounced, and he wasn't sure how that would go over. An angry druid is a bad thing.
Glancing at the map quickly, he figured out his route to the grove. It was his first guess as to where Ka would have gone and he didn't know any other place that the Archdruid liked to spend his time.
He sprints through Starwood, the concept of stealth and silence foreign to him. His blade is drawn in case he runs into any drow, but his major concern is finding Ka - and finding him in one piece. Something about the way the Archdruid looked and acted before leaving Myth Drannor was very disconcerting.
As a cry of pain fills the forest's air, he slides to a stop - grabbing onto a tree to slow himself. He stood there, taking in the sound, still as stone except for a shiver that ran down his back. Was that Ka, an animal, or the druid in one of his animal forms? Was it one being, or two? What direction did the sound come from? Was he even going in the right direction by heading toward the grove?
All kinds of "worst case scenarios" were going through his mind and he couldn't help but wonder if Ka was hurt - or worse. He wanted to call out for Ka in hopes that he'd answer, but was afraid that would only drive him further away. Once again he was at a loss as to what he should do next. *
