A particularly fiery sermon at the church of lathander

During one of the congregations at the church of lathander elric addresses the faithful with the following:

Brothers and sisters of the faith

A few nights ago a great battle took place to rid the land of an evil taint corrupting the land surrounding fox ridge.
Members and faithful alike have taken part in the effort as well as many of all walks of life.

There are those who did not come in aid of this noble effort... The zhentarim.
In their very territory no less.. they claim to use tyranny in order to "protect" the common folk but this is clearly a lie.
This further proves their false vanity for they are clearly observant of executing innocent folk left and right for trival things!


What good is a ruler if he does not protect his own subjects and abuses his power for vanity and sadism?
For nothing i say! If a ruler does not use his authority to benefit his people then he is without honor...
A dishonorable ruler is no ruler at all And should be torn down from his throne!

The Abbot Elijah has made it a point to attend all of Elric's sermons of late. He always stands inconspicuously behind the congregation right at the back of the hall. As each sermon is preached, he can be seen nodding occasionally and at other points, looking intently at the paladin-preacher with the gaze of one deep in thoughts.
