Royal Oak status Empty
PostSubject: Royal Oak status   Royal Oak status EmptyMon Jul 16, 2012 7:01 pm

/// I am not sure what the status of the Inn is right now so I'm asking here - are drow and half drow allowed in once again?
Also, are masks allowed once again?

I believe that it used to be "no masks, no drow" with Elvalia being a single exception - since she would have nowhere else to go if it wasn't for the Inn.

Right now, I am not sure how to approach drow inside the Royal Oak, as I am not sure what the rules are. Are the drow inside the Inn metagaming the guards or not?

Thanks

Yes. If any Drow is in there besides Elvalia, the guards (and possibly the owner and his friend that lives there) would rip them to shreds. There has been no change in policy with the Oak other than some management additions. Annea is still the general manager (hopefully she will come back soon) and Mara is the assistant manager. All other rules were kept the same as before by the new owner.

Anyone entering that knows they are banned should expect some serious consequences once I find out. And may the gods have mercy on their souls should I actually catch anyone banned in there.

Three drow were in five minutes ago. One of them was Elvalia. Thanks for the swift reply, I will react accordingly IC.

Screenshot it if you see it (goes for everyone). As I am now the Oak DM, I will not take kindly to people messing in my sandbox.

Those need a little updating, but they are still pretty much in effect.

Just a bump.

Only one drow is allowed in the Oak. If any other one steps foot inside, Hans, Franz, and Vinney have orders to kill them on sight. So, if you enter the Oak as a Drow or are masked (or both), you are metagaming the guards. If you are caught by staff or by a player screenshot, I will personally track you down and take levels.

You have been warned.

What about half-drow? They dont have to visibly look like drow so I was just wondering?

that's a whole other question. I've honestly been treating it like yuan-ti where we aren't allowed to be able to tell that they're monsters unless they say that we can. I'm figuring they're half-elves until someone outs them.

If half drow don't look like half drow and don't speak drow they should be fine. But if your examine says looks like a drow....Vinny is gonna kick you out or toss your body out. So please do not metagame please.

Please note that anything you put in your examine description can be used ICly. That is there for that very purpose: to tell others what they would see with a casual inspection. You put something like "looks exactly like a Drow" in your examine, expect to get kicked out and harassed. This goes for any area of the server, not just the Oak.

Half orcs are allowed. As long as they don't cause trouble. The Royal Oak even has a half orc for a bouncer. No worries cause the Oak is getting rebuilt anyways

Bumping this once more.

If you are a monster race or anything else that is banned from the Royal Oak, entering is ignoring the guards and against server rules. The same goes for anyone masked or with a drawn weapon.

You never know when a DM is going to pop on. We do not always use our DM name when doing so. You get caught doing this, expect to get dealt with. The same goes for any of the areas that ban people/races/whatever.

On a complete side note, we have discussed this type of request. We will not be removing any areas on the server when a builder leaves and wants their area removed. This is just far too disruptive to the server as a whole (imagine if the builder of Shadowdale or the Lathander farms was to leave and remove their work). Once an area is build and in game, it will stay there until staff sees fit to remove it (probably if something were permanently destroyed) or rebuild it (we are so behind on building now that I do not see any area being replaced soon). Areas in game were donated by the builder and, therefor, will not be removed unless staff sees a reason to do so. Whether the builder uses it someplace else or not is completely up to them.
