Drow Raids Empty
PostSubject: Drow Raids   Drow Raids EmptySat Sep 29, 2012 8:22 pm

Word spreads about several recent Drow raids on merchant caravans, some as close as the River Path, the Edge of the Cormanthor and even Rimwood. It's rumored that the dark ones massacred even the unarmed, while others say that at each attack some people were taken prisoner.

Those who spend extensive time in Myth Drannor and Cormanthor may hear or even notice that there seems to be an increase in activity by the surface drow, words spreads that several small ranger and elven patrols have gone missing.

Limping into the Arch Mages office, the Fearn Qil would lean heavly upon her staff, still clearly in mid recoverly, but none the less she would bow her head to her Misstress.

"Mistress, have you head the terrible news? I could not rest knowing that their were *winces* those missing out there, though I might not be able to help out in the filed, I can help you by Scrying.

Luin would immedietly move to myth drannor and begin preparing for hunting the dhaerow, he would give time for his fellow black archers to arrive to an extend, but his hotheadenes would eventually get the better of him.

Karovir is patrolling the woods around Myth Drannor again more often. He is less often seen training the refugees and lets them train each other since he is on patrol for the time being.

Some patrolmen can feel that someone is watching in the woods. It may be the tree that walks from place to place, but without disturbing or interfering in patrolling, the walking tree melts and camouflages with other trees and pretends to be a regular one if it spots people in the distance from his height. If they would come closer or even use the tree as resting spot, they could smell that beautiful aroma of one enchanted forest hidden within Cormanthor, and may even recognize it. But the tree would interfere if the dark monsters attempt again to leave blood, fire and smoke in those forests, and would become the nature ally to defenders and those who would battle the forces of darkness.

The Church of Lathander, upon hearing of the recent drow raids, steps up patrols of the Lathanderite settlements and the adjoining morning farms.

The Abbot Elijah can also be seen at the edge of Cormanthor tuning his heightened senses to any clues on the recent raids.

The bardess Kiir'Cinna would try her best to sing song of hope and courage, or to tell tales of such to people. She would sing to refugees like to citizens in hope to keep their moral good and avoid panic and more work for the already too occupied Akh'Valarhn.

Faolaine haunts the woods, commonly spreading what intel she can gather among both her comrades, the Black Archers, as well as any elven patrols she comes across. With her Brothers and Sisters, she hunts down the drow, and attempts to discover the reason for their recent offensive action.

Alarice will inform her family of the Drow attacks and advise them not to leave the refugee camp or the City.

She will go about her duties splitting her time between guarding the temple of the Seldarine and patrolling the forests.

Having the map with the marked routes and caravans, Nadin makes four copies and distributes to the officers of the Akh'Velahr, Auryne, Tay'lin, Karovir and Wendal.

- I can make adicional copies if necessary.

Amar walks the forest around Myth Drannor, keeping his eye open, and now and then comes inside the camp to gather supplies and rest for a while.

Nadin still working in the copies answers Luin that in the moment wouldn't be possible as he needs to work on it first to study its relevance and then return to him. Adding:

- Give me some time, be certain the black archers willl not be out of this, you are much welcome to fight against the dhaerow.

As a note Nadin is in fact studying how much relevant information the map can give about the caravans (origin, destiny, routes, valors), and with luck about the position of drow.

Luin would nodand say

"The black archers are allways ready when dhaerow is involved, our arrows will find them and your maps will help guide them."

He would then begin to walk to the boatman

Nadin looks for Luin in the next day, holding a perfect copy of the map

Here it is, sorry for the wait. Ah, and remenber to focus in clues about dhaerow, some of these caravans can be not friendly about elves.

Luins take the map and nods in thanks

"Thanks cousin, this will help the black archers immensely, the dhaerow will not spread their cursed webs anymore."

He puts the map in a bag, on his belt

"Seldarins blessings cousin, in this we are together."

Patrols (mostly humans, but sometimes a mixed company of humans and dwarves) can be seen in Rimwood. They seem to know the area pretty well: they change their patrol routes frequently, use not well-known trails, watch the area from high vantage points and also patrol along the roads. Should these men encounter caravans going to the Royal Oak or Ironhouse Halls, or leaving Rimwood, they will ensure their protection.

If the merchants are suspicious of these men, they will not insist, but will say that since there have been many Drow attacks recently, people of all races should band together to fight them back.

[OOC]

A PM to that effect was sent to many DMs on September 30th.
