Meanwhile, throughout the camp...

Residents of the refugee camp would occasionally see Arjay and Ardylan walking through the camp, examining the regular male inhabitants to see what elves there bore any resemblance to Leo.

The auctioneer and innkeeper are ruled out, as is the boatman, though Cirdan isn't quite as obvious to dismiss. They do make a point to ask around to see if Mahalion has been seen about the camp lately.

Ardylan approaches Mahalion's tent and sticks his head inside, without really announcing his presence.

"Mahalion! Question for you!"

He glances around the tent to see if anyone is inside it with Mahalion. Even if there is, he continues on.

"So! Who have you been sleeping with lately? There are some babies up at the temple, and we're trying to figure out who the father is. They're elves. We all know you like to enjoy your women the same way you enjoy wine - frequently and in large quantities."

He pauses to look Mahalion over, pondering whether he looks anything like Leo, but Elven.

"Now now, Mahalion... we don't make the talk of the camp, we just look into it," Arjay said. "Right now there's an elf in the temple who has two pure-blooded babies that she's trying to pass off as the children of her human husband... it would stand to reason that she'd look for someone who had similar skills to her husband, even if appearances couldn't be similar. I mean... she's already counting on, and succeeding with, him not noticing the fact that they don't have any human blood, she can afford to take some risks with appearances."

"Perhaps. But he has to be something and if that 'something' isn't human, which I'm sure it is, it certainly isn't elven. I really don't know what they're playing at, but an elf and somethig that isn't an elf don't make an elf." He shrugged, not disputing Mahalion's denial of involvement... but still giving him a once-over as he does.

Arjay nods at Mahalions statements. "Fair enough, my friend. If you hear anything, though, please do the right thing. Far be it from me to wish complications upon a mother, but the children should have some influence from their father so that they have an example of what it means to be an elf, rather than... like that."

"Uh, Mahalion, I don't know if someone forgot to explain things to you at some point about how all this works, but..... if a human and an elf mate, they make a half-elven child. That's just how it works. For Mylanis to have full elven children, she would of had to mate with another elf. Leo is not an elf. Ergo.... it is impossible for Leo to be the father. Pretty simple."

"And we're just acting in the interest of the fact that if we fathered children, we'd sure as hells want to have some say in how they're raised, such as 'not by Leo'."

((After talking with other parties involved, I'd ask that the DMs lock this thread, or delete it, preferably. Due to straightening out the events to fit lore and continuity, this scene couldn't have happened.
