Strange activities

The patrol frequency in Shadowdale increases once more, the soldiers stop citizens and adventurers, controlling them for hidden weapons and should they belong to one of the races the zhents labeled as undesirable for papers. They are quite harsh while doing so even for zhents.
At the same time the slaves can be seen cleaning the streets and even back alleys of Shadowdale day and night and its hard to find an unoccupied quiet spot.
Furthermore those who enter the town hear strange noise in west of Shadowdale, should they investigate they see soldiers alongside with carpenters, master builders and siege engineers work on constructing and reparing all kinds of siege weapons in west of shadowdale.
The workers are always heavily protected.

The Black Fang can be seen walking the streets, overseeing the progress and even pitching in at times.

A young elven girl can be seen from time to time, and whenever she is asked for her papers she always promptly responds. Her papers are well in order, written on extremely high quality paper and signed by the Black Fang herself.

She always offers a smile to whomever demands her paperwork and is perfectly polite no matter what insult in thrown her way.

She doesn't seem to be very interested in the construction going on, merely a passing curiosity as she glances over quickly before hurrying along on her business. Her reason for being in Shadowdale seems to be mainly for resupply and perhaps a minor bit of trade.
