Missing priestess

As commanded the wolf would begin to dig for the body, while Adela continues her ethereal search of the wreckage below.

As Adela searches she finds a piece of red tattered clothe and a ruby chess piece. Could this be? Is Mara found? Will she return to the living?

She would investigate further, trying to see if there are any actual remains to the body or if it is just her clothing and holy symbol. If she finds remains she would will herself straight up through the wreckage to the surface, attempting to judge depth.

She would find a hand sticking up out of the rubble. A golden ring would be on the hand on the ring finger

As she rises up from the rubble of the Oak she would shout for the others to dig there, that she has found Mara. She would then pray to Selune for strength and begin to dig directly under her feet.

Junstal would use every spell at his disposal to aid in the dig. Spells to buff the diggers, summons to help move the burnt beams, and night's to force more to the side. He is careful to not damage the corpse.

The half orc, now completely filthy in his heavy armor, would dig until his fingers bled. Any signs of Mara would elicit a frenzied burst of energy as he dug farther and faster. Signs of other bodies would increase his efforts, but not nearly to the extent any signs of his old friend would.

They find other bodies of some of the residents. As the dig they slowly start to uncover the hand, luckily its still attached too the arm. Slowly uncovering more and more.

The rescue group digs deeper and deeper in the attempt to find Mara. The stench of rotten flesh fills the air from those who still lay under the collapsed inn.
As they remove another heavy ceiling joist a battered corpse is found. Who is he the man in the armour of a purple dragon knight? And will it be possible to bring him back to live?

When Junstal hears of the purple armor he rushes over. He traveled to the dales with the group that was rescued by the dwarves. He dreads to find out who the man was.

As Cruven digs and the purple dragon knight is uncovered, he simply ignores it and continues on his course to find Mara, letting the others handle the dead knight. It's clear that she's the only one he's interested in finding.

Adela would encourage the others to keep digging while dragging the body away from the wreckage. She would cast Raise Dead on the knight, then heal him of his wounds.

Mara sits with her Matron but feels a tug at her heart....

My Lady..I feel like I shouldn't be here yet. Something is pulling me back...What should I do? Do you need me here? Should I go back if called?

Cruven and Alexandros see a hand under a beam. Its charred and broken. If they uncover the hand they see the body. She is burned and broken. Can she be brought back? Will she leave her Goddess' side?

*Seeing the hand, the giant half orc does his best to carefully remove the rest of the rubble covering the body. But his patience has worn thin and he is a bit more rough than he had hoped in digging his old friend out. Once cleared of rubble, he would carefully cradle the body as if it were an infant and make his way to the healers. Anyone that tried to stop him or get aid him in this task would be met with a cold and steely glare. Only the tears running down his filthy cheeks cut the look of absolute rage.*

Adela returns from healing the Knight to see Alexandro's carrying Mara's body. Immediately reaching for her holy symbol she would rush to him, asking him to lay her done so that Adela could do her work.

As they come across Mara's body, Cruven would allow Alexandros to carry her out. As Adela rushes over Cruven would look to her. "If ya need anything ta help her, just say what it is"

Rene would walk over and spot the body of the Purple Dragon Knight and move swiftly to his side, pulling out a water-skin as he's raised.

"You're lucky they found you, here, drink up, but not too fast now."

After a moment Rene would offer him a hand.

"Here, come I'll take you to the recovery tent."

*Alexandros would carefully lay the body of his old friend in the designated place and take a single step back to allow the healers to do their work. Though his face never wavers from a stoic stare, his eyes randomly flash between signs of sadness and signs of a barely-contained rage.*

*Alistair jerks to life with a fast and deep intake of breath, then immediately winces in pain as his body begins to knit itself from the healing magics being used on him. His well-crafted plate armor is battered, scratched, and singed but remarkably intact. He looks around even though it causes him great pain and offers a strained nod to his friend Rene as he takes a tentative sip of the water.*

"What the bloody hells just happened? I heard shouting and a commotion, but by the time I managed to get into my armor, the whole damned place crashed in on my head. Then...darkness."

*He looks around some more as the magics mend his broken body more and more and finally just nods and takes Rene's hand to weakly stand*

"Yes...seems I am still in need of some recovery. Get me out of everyone's way and tell me what the hells just happened to me...and who I need to kill to get my revenge."

*His eyes flash with arcane fire as he says that last part and is lead away to the tents.*

As Alexandros lays down Mara's broken and burnt body, Adela would kneel at her side, holy symbol in hand. She would annoint what is left of Mara's forehead with holy water, a crushed diamond, and milk, at seven points around her eyes, and then once on each eye with a line trailing down from the inside corner. She would then cast resurrection, praying to Selune to heal her and call her back to the Prime. Adela would watch as the healing magic repairs the body, then wait anxiously to see if Mara answers the call to return.

Maras body would jerk a few times as if there was an internal fight going on. After what seems like an hour but wad only a few minutes, her eyes would pop open and a sudden intake of air. She would wince and moan as she comes too.

W..what happened? I was in the chapel down stairs paying and heard shouting and some kind of loud rumble then I'm sitting next to my goddess. I'm so confused and in so much pain. Adela please tell me I was the only one in there?

She tries to get up but winced.

Help me up. If there are others that are hurt and still buried I can help.

Adela breathes a heavy sigh of relief, her eyes watering as she shakes her head. "No, you were not the only one, there are many injured and many dead, but you need your rest. Let me take care of it." She would smile and offer a hug, finally able to process the destruction now that she has found her friend.

She would look around seeing Alexandros and Cruven and frowns.

You two look terrible. Your armor is dirty Alexandros. She would smile then.

[] I need to rest a bit then I need to help others. Sandra? Vinny and the boss? are they...alright?[/I]

*Hints of rage in the huge half orc's eyes are quickly replaced with joy as Mara breathes once more. His usual smile again forms on his face, though it is still in desperate need of a bath.*

"We look no worse than you, little sister. I fear we shall all need a bath soon and have to spend hours cleaning the armors after this...incident."

*His smile stays put, but dims a bit.*

"I am certain you shall be able to find lodgings and a place to clean up, little sister. It may take me...longer...to find a place now that the Inn is no more."

*His smile comes back full force as he catches himself in the self-pity he had fought his entire life to avoid.*

"But I am positive I shall be clean and in polished armor in no time. It is a blessing of the Lady that you are with us once more and I shall not allow myself to stay in this deplorable state longer than it takes you to get cleaned up." He winks with an even wider smile. "I just hope I do not frighten too many while cleaning up in the river or stream."

She would smile

I'm sure we can find you suitable lodging soon enough. But right now I need to get up and start helping.

She gets up and starts over to the others that need help.
