Helping out. Empty
PostSubject: Helping out.   Helping out. EmptySun Jun 30, 2013 12:23 am

A young woman with an escort is seen around the City of Songs helping out in any way she can, or at least attempting to. She wears clothing that seemed fit for work rather. Her raven black hair is tied up in a bun so that it doesn't get in her way. She would perform any task from handing out food to any in need to doing odd jobs in the smithy, where she seems to have some proficiency surprisingly enough.

Most wouldn't recognize the woman, but a few might. ((Some might recognize her as Ahri Benseph))

Celovar is seen wandering around with the woman. He often speaks to her in what is considered as friendly, at least for Celovar.

At times, when working on a particularly difficult task or fix, she would raise her hand as if to cast a spell, but would stop herself, taking a deep breath and closing her eyes for a few moments. It is evident she is struggling with herself in some way. The temptation to fix and create everything with magic was strong. The moment passes, and she continues her work, sometimes chatting with Celovar while she had time in between her tasks.

Karovir would most likely see Ahri work on the fields sooner or later. He would stop by and watch a moment then nod (probably satisfied with what he sees) and move on without interrupting her work.

Ahri would nod to Karovir before returning to her work. While she did truly wish to speak to him, that could be done when there was no longer work to be done. As the day wears on, she seems increasingly tired and sweaty, as she has been working almost non-stop since the morning. She felt good though, she felt good when people smiled and thanked her, rather than feared her. The brightness it inspired was an almost alien feeling, different, but wonderful.

Ahri continues her work in the fields and in the smithy, even after hearing of the victory at Shadowdale, and even rumors about Elminster returning. At the end of each day, she is sweaty and bone-weary, but a deep sense of satisfaction rests in her heart. Less and less does she seem to have to stop herself from casting spells to aid herself.

She asks for one of the guards to look through her satchel of confiscated items for 20,000 gold to donate to the refugee fund.

((When I catch a DM on, i'll ask them to take the gold off of my hands! Very Happy ))

Karovir would approach her one day greeting her:

"Good day, Ahri. I see you are still doing your work which is a good sign. But wouldn't you like to do some other work for a change? I am preparing a rather huge caravan with refugees and supplies for Shadowdale and I am sure you could be of some help even if it's just carrying stuff and loading it on waggons."

Ahri looks up from her work and smiles, wiping her brow.

"Good day to you as well, Karovir. Once I am done in the fields, I can help with your preparations. I donated to the fund for rebuilding Shadowdale. I hear all sorts of rumors coming from there. Is it true, Elminster has returned?"

Her eyes look a little wide as she waits for the response, she had read a great many stories about the man.

Karovir would nod to her and answer:

"I heard it was him but he didn't appear like the man from the stories. I didn't spend much time around him though. Maybe you can find out and make up your own mind about him."

Turning back to her work, she frowns almost to herself. She would definitely have to take the measure of the man who may or may not be Elminster herself. It wasn't entirely unplausible that he could be an impostor. Pretending to be such a powerful figure could get one great fame indeed, especially if he could mimic some of the power that was held by the old Wizard.

She spoke without looking to Karovir, wanting to get things done in the field so she could help him. "Unfortunately, I cannot go to Shadowdale yet. I am only allowed in the City of Songs and the Farms with an escort. Until the Keeper or the Coronal give explicite permission I must stay here. I understand though. May tried to pretend to defect just to become sapper units or spies.

Smiling slightly, she turns to him again. "Go ahead and head over to wherever you are packing up the caravan. I will catch up to you once I am done here."

Karovir raises a brow looking at her with a smirk:

"I am glad that you take this very serious and stick to the rules of your redemption. You say though until the keeper or the Coronal gives permission. Currently I am the acting keeper. You also will have an escort because the caravan will travel guarded by our soldiers. Anyway I won't force you if you like to just keep up your work here then go ahead. Have a good day."

He would then just go to do the final preparations to get the caravan moving.

It isn't long before Ahri meets up with Karovir at the location where he is packing up the Caravan, helping out by loading supplies, though there isn't very much to do since most of the final preparations were almost complete by the time she got there.

"I will go, but on the condition that you leave a letter informing Keeper Moonbolt and the Coronal that I am with you and under guard. I do not want to cause any trouble for you, or any misconceptions about myself trying to escape or somewhat similar."

Karovir nods to her.

"Deal. You know for me atonement means more than just working on the fields all day. You have to be tested. I will tell some guards to watch you and I will let the Coronal and Nadin know."

Ahri smiles and nods and finds her place in the caravan, close enough so that the guards can keep an eye on her easily enough, in fact, she doesn't wander far from their sight at all. There was a slight pang of anxiety that fluttered in her chest as they left. She would have to come back her at some point, she had wanted to learn from Keeper Moonbolt about culture, and from Celovar about the blade, and from the High Mage about magic, but there was much to do in Shadowdale...she needed to give back to those she had taken from.

"I will do my best to help, I swear it."
