Wandering Warrior

A large woman has been seen wandering the Crossroads, across the river and into the plains past the House of Redemption building site. For members, Asteria has left the following note:

Seems I have business to attend to—

I’ll be around and perhaps may return once a tenday but for now, I think my purpose is better suited for destroying our enemy. Those that know me know how to find me.

The woman can be heard clanking down local roads because of her heavy iron breastplate and arsenal of weapons. She can be seen carrying axes, swords, a bow and a few explosives. She, however, tends to leave most alone and seems perfectly intent on destroying enemy orcs, undead and beastmen. Aside from weapons, she carries a tower shield strapped to her arm.

For one other, she leaves a note posted at the Crossroads and pinned to a light post. It reads:

I’m around but seems there’s a need for a patrol. I have no desire to fight another war and maybe this’ll help prevent one.

Once in a while, she can also be seen in town to purchase supplies and then heads right back out to hunt her enemies. In the plains, there may be some evidence of brutal battle—blood, axe marks on corpses and broken bones strewn across the plains.

((Hopefully explains an IC reason for my absence and perhaps a chance to get some forum roleplay in since I don’t have time for much else during the week. =) ))

Mark who always walks around the Crossroads would see the woman and smile at her "Don't worry, you, unlike what the rumours say I ain't going to assault you but know that people have a habit for taking down notes... That one won't last long, I assure you"
He would say before looking around, wary of the surroundings.

"Well, most people around is stupid and they enjoy doing such things, you'll know soon enough that they only try to benefit themselves. But, if you are not worried about me I am glad, it is hard to find someone who judges on their own... Most prefer to let someone else think for them. Looking for someone or something?"
He would say walking towards her, to stay at a reasonable distance.

"You need information, I'm your man. I am sure I can contact your people one way or another if you really need to. Why? Because I want... Simple as that, I hate laws, I hate cutting off people's freedom on whims. With me there is only one side of the coin and it is what you see, so don't worry about politics around me, uh?"
He would smile at her and point to his sword
"I am not using it, though I like to keep it at hand, swing it a bit, people think twice after that... And if they attack regardless of it, well, I am used to beatings"
He chuckles looking at her
"Want me to find that love of yours?"

He chuckles looking at her
"Want me to find that love of yours?"

"M'people are just across t'river." She lifts her head and jerks her chin to the opposite shore. Asteria grins at him and chuckles. "As fer politics, I doubt I can worry. I have 'nough ta worry about." She looks back to him when he indicates his weapon. "Eh, I don't blame ya. I keep m'shield on fer a similar thing, I guess. Dunno how well it works but at least it's better than nothin'." Her brown eyes regard him with a mix of curiosity and maybe a hint of caution. "Though if you want ta help find him, sure. Just curious wha' ya want in return. If yer lookin' fer coin, I migh' be yer wrong lass ta ask."

"This will piss someone off, that is enough for me this days. If I needed money I would be mining and selling gems for half the usual price, easiest way to piss someone off and earn money faster than ever"
He seems to look at the other side of the river and frown a bit but says nothing about it.

"Asteria" says a familiar voice to her, Mark walks towards her with a worried look and kneels near her "What happened? You look like dung. Tell me and maybe I can help" he looks around and leans forward whispering.

Mark and Asteria keep talking to each other for a while, Mark presence seems to be helping, might be because if something was to happen, they would attack Mark first for sure, that certainly makes everyone feel better.

After a brief time talking, Mark seems to be drinking from the bottle too and making sure Asteria is in perfect shape, looking around in case someone comes and telling Asteria several things, asking some questions.
He has relaxed a great deal since he first saw her walking around aimlessly and it reflects on his smile.

*A towering figure clad in heavy armor can be seen standing several hundred feet away. He's just standing there, staring at the two. His face partially covered by his helmet, a towershield held in his left hand. If it wasn't for the raising of his shoulders, indicating that he's breathing, the man would resemble a statue.*

Mark stands up with her and puts a hand on the hilt of his sword. "Where have I seen that face before...?"

*The man doesn't respond to the greeting, perhaps standing a bit too far to hear it. As he shifts his weight, more of his face is revealed - the tribal markings, jaw, cheekbones... Those who ever saw the barbarian before would have enough clues to identify him (if they didn't identify him by his height and build alone).

He's just standing there. Staring.*

"Well, that guy is creepy and he ain't here for me, that's sure... Do I slap him or do you actually want to talk to him?" he asks Asteria, like it's the regular day at the Crossroads.

Asteria studies his tribal markings and whatever glimpse of his face she can get. But, from the look on her face, she has no idea who Taeron is or what he looks like. She gives him a bit of an odd look, raising her brows. She seems a bit uneasy as she's stared at.

"Ya mean, ya don't know 'em?" She leans a bit, looking to Mark. "'Cause I don't either..." She grins and chuckles. "But, neh. M'curious. I'd rather talk ta him rather than see ya slap a stranger." She gives him a bit of an amused look.

Asteria then speaks louder for Taeron to hear. "'Ey, yer kinda creepin' m'friend out....no offense but could ya quit starin' at us, eh?" She doesn't say this in an offensive manner; just with her usual bluntness.

*If Asteria knows a bit about the lands of the North, she might recognize the markings as Uthgardt*

*The barbarian looks around briefly, as if to make sure she's talking to him and sets his gaze on her afterwards.*

The crossroads are a dangerous place these days.

*He states it plainly.*

Seeing two people just sit around and chat is a bit unusual.

"Sorry, should we be trippin' balls and dancing naked like Lyons do? 'cause I rather slit my throat with a spoon..." he said and then chuckles looking at Asteria
"Death by spoon, that would be quite epic"

Asteria narrows her eyes as she examines the markings further. Some recognition lights up in her brown eyes. She tilts her head and watches Taeron a moment.

"Guess it is. I more 'er less ended up 'ere after a long night." She nods to Mark. "An' he more 'er less found me."

She laughs hard. "Yeesh, I wouldn't be caught dead doin' tha'! At least...not out 'ere." She arches a brow and laughs. "Remind me ta avoid spoons when around ya then..."

Asteria glances back to Taeron and nods to his tattoos. "Not ta be nosey but those look like Uthgardt tattoos. Are ya from t'north?"

*Taeron eyes Mark as he makes the joke, but he doesn't even blink. All he says is:*

*When Asteria mentions the North, he arches a brow and looks her over. He unlocks his helmet and takes it off - revealing face covered with tribal tattoos and markings. Most of them depict a tiger's paw made with red ink.*

I am. Red Tiger Tribe. Am I talking to a kinsman?
