Searching for the Druidess Nessa

At the request of Sol Leo Lyon, Kendra makes her way to the waterfall in Myth Drannor to find the druidess Nessa. A soft smile is on her face and she carries...a loaf of cinnamon crumble bread. It seems she is wanting to comfort the woman in some way. She looks around for her at the waterfall when she arrives.

"Miss Nessa? Are you here?"

*Kendra would indeed find Nessa near the waterfall staring out at the ripples the crushing water makes over the rest of the calm surface. At the sound of footsteps drawing near she raises a hand to cup her neck her eyes remaining focused forward as she answers*


"Nessa here. Who join Nessa?"

Staying back so as not to seem threatening, as she was told where the woman recently was, she speaks in a soothing voice.

"Nessa, my name is Kendra. Leo sent me here. Would you like something to eat? I have something sweet that you may like."

She unwraps the bread so the aromas can fill the air.

*Nessa's form seems stiff and tense as she rises and carefully walks towards the woman. Once obviously standing in the woman's personal space she leans forward and begins to smell her memorizing her scent. If she doesn't find anything threatening about what she smells she straightens and stares at the woman while reaching out to take the sweet treat offered. With very little manners she begins to eat the bread talking with her mouth full*

"Why Leo send to Nessa?"

Kendra shouldn't smell threatening at all, truly being concerned for the woman's well-being. She also does not seem bothered when Nessa is in her personal space. With a smile, she watches as Nessa eats the bread and explains...

"Leo told me what happened to you...and about your staff. He is going to go get it back for you! I wanted to help, as I think it's horrible what you must have gone through..." She looks at the woman sincerely. "I am here as a friend. Are you alright?"

*Nessa takes a seat looking out across the water keeping her expression neutral as she speaks*

"Nessa fine. Just want staff to bring back"

*sighs looking up at the woman*

"Not smart go to caves below. Nessa know this now. Danger to Leo or others who go"

With a nod, Kendra then switches from speaking Common to Elven.

"There will be danger, yes. But I believe Leo seems to know what he's doing. And there may be other ways to get the staff than just barging into their home."

She tilts her head and looks at the woman with sincere concern, then takes a seat as well.

"I can only imagine what you went through, Miss Nessa. If there is anything I can do to help with what you have gone through, please let me know. No one should bottle these things up. It can eat away at them."

*Nessa gives a sad smile to Leo then looks back out over the water staying silent for a long moment before speaking in elven* "I thank you for trying Leo. I knew that this would not be an easy task. I will find it eventually....somehow..." *she looks to Kendra* "I thank you for your kind words and your sweet treat. It is nice to see those that still care for others....even strangers" *with a heavy sigh she stares at the waterfall* "I would like to be alone now if that is alright"

Mylanis arrives later, having heard of where to find Nessa from Leo, and having been told that she'd like her privacy, Mylanis simply holds her distance, until she judges that Nessa is calm enough to be approched.

At which point Mylanis merely walks over and sits besides Nessa.

"It's never easy losing something or someone you love, I'm sorry that we couldn't help you get your staff back. I heard that it belonged to someone very dear to you, would you tell me who?"

Kendra nods to Nessa when she says she wishes to be alone. She continues to speak in Elven.

"If there is anything I can do to help you ever, you need only seek me out, Miss Nessa. I am usually either in Shadowdale or just wandering around. Please keep your head high. I will be around if you need me. May the Mistress of Revels bless you with happiness in time, dear Nessa."

She dips her head to Nessa and then Mylanis as she leaves.

*Nessa remains silent as she stares over the water. So deep in her thoughts she almost doesn't hear Mylanis approach. She takes in a deep shaky breath exhaling slowly as she turns to speak in elven with the woman*

"It belonged to one of my mentors, the Green Lady. They killed her and took her staff. It wasn't theirs to take. I have searched for years and will search for many more till I find it."

*Nessa swallows hard trying not to become to emotional as she looks back out to the water*

"You warned me about Badger. Perhaps he was wrong about it likely being in the caves below. All I know is that I can not give up"

Mylanis smiles softly, trying to comfort the poor girl.

Going into the Underdark is never wise, and always carries a great risk. And even if the Drow do have you staff, I have my doubt that it's still among them, I imagine it's either been sold of, or destroyed. I would suggest that instead of searching for something which you likely wont find again, then you make peace with the situation, and move forward, and in some other manner make your teacher proud.

Mylanis sighs a little.

I dont like to be the bearer of bad news, but right now I need to once again be a voice of reason. I told you already not to trust Badger, yet you followed him into the underdark anyway. Now I ask that you try and follow my advice, and move forward. I will help you should you need it, and I can also teach you many things that you might need in the future, but my help comes with a price.

You make peace with the fact that your mentors staff isn't within your reach, and might never be again. So you must break you attachment to it, nothing lasts forever, not even life. So you shouldn't throw it away, searching for something, which can be replaced.

I don't mean to be harsh on you, you've already suffered enough, but I need to make sure that you wont go and try again, should someone try and deceive you again.
