| Greetings Dalelanders and welcome to the imagination of ADM Mirror! I wanted to start things off by saying thank you to the community and staff for allowing me the privilege to DM for you. I am truly excited to meet and game with each and every one of you and hope we have some fun together as well!
I am here to serve the community. My purpose when running any campaign, adventure or event is to make your gaming experience more fun, to add to your immersion and development of your characters and stories and to enhance your interaction within the game world.
As it states in the Dungeon Master's Guide:
"Normally, but not always, the DM is in charge of inviting players to play in his or her game. If this is the case, it’s your responsibility to know and understand each of these people well enough that you can be reasonably sure that they’ll all get along, work well together, and enjoy the sort of game you run. A lot of this has to do with playing style. Ultimately, you have to know the kind of game your players want to play—and, with players new to the game or a newly formed group, this knowledge may take a while to emerge. Recognize that while you’re in charge, it’s really everybody’s game—and that the players are all here, coming back session after session, because they trust that you’ll help them have a fun and rewarding gaming experience."
I would like to invite anyone and everyone to please feel free to approach me with your story requests, event requests, concerns and assistance requests. I am a flexible and experienced DM with varying styles of play from hack and slash one off adventures to long campaigns of mystery and intrigue and have just as much fun designing and running any of the diverse and wonderful ways that the games of Dungeons and Dragons and Neverwinter Nights 2 can be played. I would also like to offer up front, if there are any plot lines or old, untied up stories that retired DMs did not have a chance to finish with you before the left, please feel free to contact me via PM. The more material and details that you have on the plot particulars the better as it will allow me to pick the story up quickly. It would also be helpful if you included your preferred play style i.e. “Kick in the Door” action, or “Deep Immersion Story Telling” and anything in-between. For events I design for specific players, we can work out these specifics together before we get started in game.
As for general and open events I run I would like to take a moment to lay out my expectations and guidelines for events so that everyone is on the same page ahead of time.
1. Slow down, relax. This is especially important when groups of players more the 4 are involved. Every player has a varying speed of typing, thinking and reacting. Please try to keep that in mind in larger events and be inclusive to everyone involved. If things seem to be getting out of hand I will ask those involved to roll a twenty sided die for “chat initiative” and have players respond according to their roll’s result from lowest roll speaking first and on up to make sure that every one involved gets a chance to play their character, respond and enjoy the event.
2. Death: Death is a serious event in a character’s story whether they are brought back through resurrection or other means. Most of the time if a character is felled during one of my events I will rule it as the character is knocked out or gravely wounded. Please play the scene accordingly as it is terribly immersion breaking if one jumps back up and right back into combat.
3. Please do not rest unless I have given permission during an event.
4. Use your imagination! I am forged in the PNP game of Dungeons and Dragons and unless otherwise noted before hand, will design events in this fashion. Want to pick up that chair and jam the door, let’s do it. How about running across that tight rope to sneak into a window in the building across the road, I’ve got a roll for that. Don’t let game mechanics hold your imagination back. If it could work, we’ll give it a try!
5. There is no reason to rush the RP. Take your time and play out your character. I am more than happy to “freeze time” to allow the story to properly develop if it is within reason.
6. Declare skill based actions and intents to me via a tell. If you want to enter stealth mode, declare it to me privately ahead of time. Sometimes I will use the mechanics of the game for these things, sometimes I will ask for manual dice rolls. Depending on the situation I will inform you which I prefer.
7. I highly encourage players to use the journal portion of the forums to write up IC reactions of events. I am hoping to inspire creativity and fun and personally enjoy reading the stories that are inspired from events. Of course there is absolutely no requirement or pressure to do so.
Finally, please, I am always looking for constructive feedback and open communication with players to ensure that I continue to design events and stories that are truly fun and inspiring for you to play. Please PM me at any time to open up a dialogue.
See you in-game!

| When one peers into the Mirror deep enough, when one seeks the secrets of the stairs, when asking for meaning, you will find only your reflection.
Ask as many questions of yourself as you wish, I can not promise you will find the answers you thought you sought. |
