Happening around town

As rumors begin to spread about a plague that is striking the Dale people begin to pack up thier meager belongings. It seems as if more then a few plan to leave town. Soon they discover armed adventures at the easter Gate. However are soon attempting the nother trails, the southern road and wester routes. Some even try game trails in the woods.

About half the militia seems to have deserted, and many of the priests are seen packing up as well.

Anyone trying to leave by the forest, would meet the helmed Paladin which sometimes before the events tonight had been seen around town, Here they will also be told to go back inside town.

Kasia, standing at the east gate, will ask anyone who wishes to leave the town to stop.
She would explain the situation and the information known to her about the parasites causing the infection, and would request that those who attempt to leave either wait nearby until someone who can verify their lack of infection comes about, or use a spell of dismissal upon themselves if they are capable of such. Anyone else would be prevented from leaving, to the best of her ability, though she would offer them all a chance to remain nearby where she can watch them, saying that she would do her best to protect them if the infected come for them.


She would offer a warning to anyone attempting to enter the town, and ask them to relay the news to other dales and merchants on the road. If any of them are willing (Through payment if they need such convincing) she would ask them to deliver news to Myth Drannor or to the lady Bryanna, asking that someone who can sense the worms be sent over so that non infected refugees can be allowed to leave.

Sedrin would be with Kaisa for a long time at the gate, letting her do most of the talking, muscling up her words.

Tarik, after talking to Kasia and Celedien outside the east gate had headed on to Freehaven purchasing all the dismissal scrolls he could he would head to the North Gate ushering those that tried to leave back into town and preventing those that would try to enter the town. Not having many dismissal scrolls he would only offer to use the scrolls on the ones who needed it the most, being the sickly who needed immediate attention and severely wounded if any. He would use the scrolls on them sparingly then tend to their wounds and tell them to set up camp near by to keep an eye on them.

*Jonah attempts to contact some of the priesthood of various good-aligned faiths. He tells them he knows of a way to stop the mysterious plague, and that he needs their help to be successful. He tries to keep everyone calm and remind them of their vows. He asks for their courage, their compassion, and their wisdom. If any of them are advanced enough to cast Dismissal, he would ask them to help in shifts at the East Gate, with Kasia and Sedrin, blessing travelers in groups.

He concludes with a promise to contact them with further details soon*

*Jonah also takes it upon himself to act as a runner to the other means of escape from the town, and informs the guardians there of his machinations. He tells them that a priest will be by to bless and cleanse them of any infection if they can send any refugees back into town, but allow them to learn about activities at the East Gate on their own, in an attempt to try and prevent a stampede.*

As the adventures begin closing off exits from Shadowdale they run into small groups trying to leave town. Most seem scared of getting infected others are dead set on leaving.

//adm Mirror and adm specters will try to spawn npcs at verious points around town to be cured. If players wish to create inventive RP (have a friend create a "commoner" that can be "cured" feel free to do so and post screen shots! Your actions can effect the future of the town!

As news spreads of this plague to Myth Drannor and the Akh'vehlar begin examining people, Tohrm queries about the cause and, upon learning of the methods used to 'purge' the plague, begins the lengthy journey from Myth Drannor to the sleepy, parasite ridden death trap of current Shadowdale.

After a long day of watching the gates, a thoroughly exhausted Kasia can be seen departing the area (not before making sure that someone else remains to oversee the quarantine measures at the gate).

She would return, many hours later, seemingly better rested and bearing supplies that she would begin handing out to whatever refugees elected to remain at the gate under her watch, while waiting for someone who can cure them to come about (basic foods and water for those that appear to urgently need them, cots to lay on or use as shelter from the rain for ones who appear to suffer from mundane sicknesses - // Edit: 5k Taken by ADM_Sapphire ingame).

While unsure if it would help, she keeps a protection against evil ward up on her person at all times.

A rumor spreads that an infected man was spotted at crossroads.

He was dismissed by a man in red armor.

Deep in the night, Jonah makes his way to the old school. He takes one trip around the outside of the unused building, looking for open entrances. With a flick of the wrist and a twist of the hip, he breaks the lock on the door, and lets himself in.
 
With his leftover supplies from tending to the guards, he sets up bedrolls, cots, and hangs canvas quarantine dividers.  He works though the entire night, spiriting quietly to deserted guardposts to "commandeer" more supplies.  His tattered grey robes blend in well against the stone and wattle buildings, and he darts around the outskirts of town like a grey ghost.
 
When his work is complete, he is exhausted, but he steps outside to greet the sun, and check in with the guardians at each of the gates;
 
"There is now a Hospital in the Old School.  I will be tending to any sick or injured, as well as curing Infected townspeople once Sister Laura returns.  Please send anyone you cannot tend to yourself to Sister Laura and I..."

People begin going to the Old School seeking help. Complaints range from symtems of the Common Cold to more outrageous claims begin to be reported. It is clear the population is frightened that this plague is deadly. Whispers spread that almost half of the Militia has gone missing spread.

At the gates and around the outskirts of town a growing number of people are stopped by aventurers, how many slip away unnoticed is not clear. At the Norther gates the Lathanderite guards (the few still on duty) have stopped Shariff Jacob and his family from leaving.

Ravossel is seen patrolling shadowdale wood, in east shadowdale Ravossel is seen with Donnleen doing the same, and at House of redemption.

Occasionally a black panther is seen at the edge of the woods watching the increased patrols in the area curiously. It scampers back into the undergrowth every time it's approached.

The panther finds a group of about ten milita dead with one gnoll. Two of the men seemed to have died in battle while the other eights body's seem almost cast aside. Eight gnoll tracks lead towards fox ridge...

The panther regards the bodies, it looks back towards shadow dale for a moment as if deciding something. It sniffs the discarded bodies then the tracks picking up a scent.
It starts to move following the tracks before stopping, as an after thought it turns, sparks crackling off its fur as magic is weaved setting light to the bodies before stalking after the tracks with haste. Being long gone by the time smoke alerts the patrols to the site

Tarik still guarding the north gate is grateful for the assistance from the guards the man not having left his post other then to patrol the surrounding area and only to return. He has yet to get any sleep and the dark circles and bloodshot eyes are evident of this. He has a new found wand he was able to purchase from Arjay now being able to cast dismissal on fifty two people as he has fifty charges and two scrolls of dismissal left now.

He continues to tend to those that he can pushing himself to stay away and occasionally seen drinking from a few vials strapped to his side, the contents are dark red. After dealing with a few pedestrians here and there he would cast another dismissal spell on himself just to make sure, not taking the chance of becoming infected.

When the guards stop the Sheriff's family from leaving he furrows his brow and clanks up approaching his wand in one hand and a half empty vial in the other hand as he tends to be drinking from it at the time.

"Excuse me, Sirs? Is there a reason they aren't allowed to leave town? I will cast dismissal on them and tend to them with what little supplies I have left. Also if you could get a runner to the East Gate that would be appreciated. I am running low on herbs and healing supplies and some relief would be appreciated for yourselves and if we could get an escort for those gathered here to get them to safety. "

As he speaks he would reach up rubbing the side of his head over the solar plexus the toll of lack of sleep and the contents of the vial straining him mentally but physically he seems a tad refreshed from the contents in the vial.

*As the day waxes and begins to wane, Jonah's efforts begin to take their toll on him. The lines on his face deepen, and his color begins to drain. For the first time in the eyes of many, he begins to truly look old. Nonetheless, he never slows down, and his level of care remains impeccable. He manages the sick as best he can, and prepares them for travel. Jonah guides them to the East Gate to be checked and Dismissed. He waves good by to the children, then returns to tend to the next group.*

Left at the gates while Mark and other adventurers are escorting refugees to Myth Drannor, Lucent would check the people that Jonah brings in, also asking him what's with Laura.

Gethein spent much time walking back and forth between Myth Drannor and Shadowdale. Though it pained him to do so, he forewent his usual joyous greeting and inspected everyone he came across with the spell taught to him by Karovir. When he was certain that they were clear of infection, he commenced with his incessant ad-lib rhyming about the loveliness of the day and the wonderful rings around everyone's eyes.
Now, finally remembering his promise to Jonah, he hastens his pace to Shadowdale. Upon arriving at the gates, he introduces himself in his favorite overly-grandiose manner and requests entry to lend his aid in the "School" (where Jonah told him to go). It would probably sound something like ... this!
"Hello, good people who guard this great gate!
The minstrel's arrived, and I hope not too late.
Though the elves deem the gesture the deed of a fool,
I swore to meet Jonah the Good in the school.
I haven't much practice in teaching, I fear,
and my skills as a medic are worthy of jeer.
But if lungs full of song and a pack full of beer
can alleviate Shadowdale's woes, it is here!"
