Fool's errand

Being banned from everywhere has made Mark unaware of what was happening until the warnings about Shadowdale start spreading, he takes a deep breath, tired from the last few days of bad luck he shakes his head and remembers that Laura must be treating people inside Shadowdale so he travels to Shadowdale East and speaks to the few guards that stand there.
"I am Mark Lametz, I am currently banned from this city but I want to help and I don't give a crap if I get infected, what can I do to help?"

*During one of his check-ups on the Guards, Jonah encounters Mark outside the gates. He greets him with a wam, but tired smile. He seems a little pale and wan, himself, but it is difficult to tell if it is because of any infection, or simple exhaustion.*

"Mark, my friend... I have just the job for you..."

*He takes Mark aside, just out of earshot. He is careful not to touch Mark directly, or come too close, just in case.*

"We are going to need someone to escort uninfected and cleansed people to Myth Drannor as refugees... *He pauses to wipe sweat from his brow, and catch his breath a moment* If you would like to help, these people need a guardian until they can get to safety. They only need to get gate-to-gate, so you won't have to be hassled by guards in either town as well.

"What do you think...?"

"I can do that, but I want to check on Laura, Kendra, Amatria, Ahri, Aelyria, Sedrin, Cleo, Jay and Tarik" he would say looking around, obviously more worried about this people than the actual situation of Shadowdale.

"Of course... I believe they are all currently at Myth Drannor, except for Sedrin, who has been helping guard the East Gate, here. Laura is learning how to identify the Infected, and we have a cure. It is limited, but it will do for now. She should be returning here once she learns the spell.

"... Kendra is dead. She is in the Lathandrite temple in Myth Drannor, and Cleo is attempting to bring her back from the Fugue."

Mark frowns at word of Kendra being dead but focuses on what Jonah said about everyone else being safe and nods
"I am going to clear a path towards Myth Drannor, if I am the only guard making this travels my ideal number is three people, any person beyond that and the risk multiplies, I think ten persons would be the maximum I can handle on my own. If there are other guards doing this trip I'd like to meet them to introduce myself. I have nothing else to do that is this important, I can be awake for 36 hours then sleep 12 and so on, so expect me to be around active for a nice ammount of time between sleep"

He nods as Mark speaks.
 
"Good. Kasia is the Red Knight with Sedrin right now.  I think she means to stay here, but there may be others.  Those at Myth Drannor may want to help you as well; we might have more success setting up a caravan.  I'll leave the rest to you, Mark."
 
He glances back into town as the situation escalates.
 
"I need to get back to the Hospital; I'm the only one on duty at the moment, until any of the other Priests and Priestesses around town arrive..."
 
He turns and shuffles back into the town.  Jonah stops by the gate and turns back to Mark before disappearing;
 
"And Mark -- Thank you."
