Rumors of a Raided Camp

A few mercenaries from Cormyr were seen frequenting the city in search for food. A few common folk overheard them talking to a sun elf about their group, calling themselves the "Gray Scale" mercenary company. They spoke of Vivar Mercantile a trade company owned by a wealthy Cormyrian noble family and how dishonest they were for hiring a group of adventurers to protect a poorly maintained caravan against a unknown foe.

Sometime after they left a elven man started gathering a group of supporters. His intention was to slay the mercenaries for the killings of "Women and children" and working with a known pacter. The group set off and the sound of battle and screams rang through the Shadowdale Wood for several long moments. They returned with one survivor, a bloodied elven woman. She was presented to Belur who had attempted to remove her from the inn but was stopped by two adventures after a heated debate. The woman known as Ythrea is now in the custody of the Black Hounds.

Those who investigate the Shadowdale Wood would find that no corpses remain only the tattered remains of military tents, and blood.

Milo would head to the city's crop manager and inquire about purchasing a large amount of food for the Cormyrian merc group. If knowledge of the demolished camp had reached the public, and if Milo were to be informed, he would instead seek out Officer Neil (I believe his last name was Roush?) and ask about how he might offer his aid in other ways - either tending to the dead for burials and prayers, or something more direct.

*Ravossel would totally help her self to some of the tents. More persighly a few larg tattered sections of the cloth used on the tent frames. Asuming they are still there by the time she checks out what's up about the tents. Ravossel pearty much got the load down of what happened by a few of her friends. *

* If there are dead bodies, Ravossel would use some of Druidic magics to pull the bodies into the eath to be come tree, and plant food.*

* If there's any use full things like, clothing, food, coins. Ravossel would take thees items to shadowdale orphanage. As for the tattered tenting cloth Ravossel helped her self to, she takes that all the way back to Lurue's Glade. Were in her free time Ravossel stitches them back to gather, and uses them for a wide selection of things. Ranging from added Cushing for Donnleen's, and her sleeping place, to make there sleeping place more wether resistant, to making simple packs, and bages. *

As Cruven gets a report from the adventurers who brought the woman to the Hound's Fort, he would simply grumble to himself about other mercs attempting to poach his turf.

Sunken eyed Hawkley would hear this rumor and nod his head. Making his way to the battleground of a campsite he would look for any tracks identifiable. . Should he find any he would follow them for a time being, if not he would, with all haste, make his way towards the Black Hounds outpost.

A day after the attacks on the camp word would spread that Belur had led his men east of Shadowdale, leaving a trail of corpses belonging to the scattered forces of the Gray Scale Mercenaries throughout the countryside.

Upon reaching the last of their forces who attempted to regroup in the Shadowdale Woods again, he and his forces were seen cutting down fleeing mercenaries before they could reach the safety of the city. It is rumored however that Belur Taur fell in battle and did not return to the realm of the living.

The hunter Hun-Balam departed the city of Shadowdale upon hearing these news, and headed towards the eastern woods. He retrieved his companion Mictlali, whom had been hidden in the woods and they patrol the edge of the forest, making a specially careful incursion into the Forest of the Dead in order to ensure the fallen had not come to engross the files of the undead menacing the eastern forest.

From there, he takes the forest paths towards the Fangs, in order to find out if there is anything unusual near the Altar located there.

Some distance into the woods, where the mercenary camp had stood, lies a patch of earth freshly dug and filled. Travelers passing by the area after the final fight recall seeing several individuals, including Eleiryanna, Isendur, Aureco, and Elor digging a mass grave, in which the mercenary dead were laid to rest under sacred blessings and holy water to prevent their return as undead.

A single Cormyrean longsword, its edges blunted, sits point first, deep in the fresh dirt of the grave. A piece of parchment, enchanted to endure the elements, hangs from its guard:

Here lie loyal men, who laid down their lives in service to Crown and country of Cormyr in a foreign land, cut down and massacred by a cold, callous heart in the name of political gain. Let those who see this know of their noble sacrifice, and may they find eternal peace and rest.

The sigil of the Cormyrean Purple Dragons is inked at the end.

A shadowy figure looms over the longsword. . A tired, dry, mirthless chuckle comes faintly from the concealed person. . The ranger emerges from his shadowy mantle, plucking the sword from the earth. . "Fools." He speaks but a single word, before stepping back into the darkness, becoming one with the night. .

It takes some time before it's noticed that the memorial was removed. Shortly after, a cloaked figure returns and plants another longsword there, with a similar note on parchment attached as well.

The blade would once again be removed, should Ele' return to place another blade and parchment, two arrows would thud at his feet from the darkness, a silent yet deadly warning.

Rumors whisper that the Cormyrean Purple Dragon, who was seen spending a lot of time with a particular Grey Scale mercenary, was seen riding south from Shadowdale under cover of darkness.
