Letter to the Mages Guild

A letter arrives addressed to the Mages Guild
it is from Misty Falls.

To all who knew her:
The loss of Ahri Bensef is a horrid tragedy to us all. She spent time with us in Misty Falls, as well as so many others, bringing her skills , talent and nature. We mourn her loss.
I can only imagine the vacuum that is left behind.
Before her passing, I had hoped to approach your guild as an interested applicant. Now, perhaps more than ever, with the loss of one so valuable, and the impending threats to Shaddowdale from undead and other forces. . . my abilities and knowledge could prove helpful.
I am a free soul , with no pact, no allegiance to darkness of any kind, and enemies of Shadowdale are enemies of mine.
I wield spells of the 9th circle, and though I avoid all works of the weave that are of dark or evil origin, I do have knowledge , from a previous time now gone, of the workings of magics from the outer planes.
No, I can no longer , and do not wish to , cast such spells, but did for several years. I hope that this insight will be of value, even though I can no longer use any of it.
I am also deeply concerned for the safety and longevity of Shadowdale and its citizens, as I have been since the liberation of it from the Zhents.
I would also extend to your members , our battleporium , in the Keep of Misty Falls, for any testing , or sparring or practice of your skills in mock combat, or matches. I provide this to all the Dales as a servant and dedicated follower of the Red Knight.

The Shadowdale Mages Guild is prepared to offer you membership, with some conditions. As your situation is unusual, your Guild membership will be considered provisional and you will be mentored by one or more Guild members.
Provisional status will be removed once the Guild is satisfied as to your redemption.

Please let us know if you find the conditions acceptable. Assuming you do, you should consider a colour to adopt as your Guild name. You should also arrange to meet in person with the Sages as soon as possible to finalize details of your joining.

This is day to be remembered. I am greatly inspired and joyful in your willingness to offer me a place with fellow casters. I accept fully.

Know that once freedom comes to the chained, we flee bondage, with no desire, no temptation, never to return nor engage the traps that held me in damnation and slavery. I welcome your inspection, your vigilance, and monitoring, for I know well what you shall behold : the new life of the free.
I seek assistance on a project that I study now, and hope to join in those of the Guild.

As for colors, I would welcome any of the following : Lavender, Violet, Amber, Emerald , Jade.

I can come to Shadowdale, but am still under limited access requiring Militia escort. I offer the Keep of Misty Falls as a gathering place for the Mages at any time. Full inspection of our lands and Keep are open to you as well.
