Nature at stake Empty
PostSubject: Nature at stake   Nature at stake EmptyMon Jun 15, 2015 11:34 am

Those knowledgable in the ways of nature will have noticed a considerable decline in the Fauna of the Cormanthyr forest in the past months...

no day passes where there is not a body of a animal found that was ravaged by roving bands of undead.

If this continues the balance of the vulnerable ecosystem of the Cormanthyr Forest might be severly weakened if not destroyed for a long time..

allready some kinds of animals have become scarce.. being unable to fullfill their niche in ecosystems balance.

Adding to this tragedy are the findings of scattered dead and withered trees which grow more common each day.

Leo would approach to one of the bigger withering (but still alive) trees not so far from Lyons Forest. He would knock twice at it gently, trying to awake the spirit of it inside (maybe a dryad), to ask if the spirit of this tree has any information of what is going on, and how can Leo help. He would use sylvan tongue while summoning the spirit. If nobody answers, Leo would keep searching for a spirit of nature in Cormanthor Forest, moving from one tree to another with hope to find any that has a clue of this negative phenomena and where is it its source.

Recently arriving in Cormanthor, Ivaris would begin patrols of the area in scouting for any roving bands of undead.

A guardian of the woods that is only seen around the Arivaela'ruar Encampment once every season appears to keep to himself, yet fighting the undead as he finds them, if there is any plant life he can cure, he will aid it. As for fauna, he leaves them to their own fate as he will not be irrupting their natural behavior. However in the face of undeath, he protects the animal life and will cure them as he can. Else he leaves them to wherever they plan to go, if their instincts dictate that they must move.

The druid Narquess walks in Cormanthor in air elemental shape, he tries to find the most devastated areas in search for a source of undeath emanations. In the way he will confront undeads and help the forest as possible, like ending fires. If overwhelmed he will opt for escape in the winds and sky above.

Having anticipated this problem months in advance, even through discussion with the Lyons, the Arch Druidess had ushered a multitude of animals away from the more destroyed areas of the forest, into deeper, more protected and untouched places, or spirited away hundreds of the healthy ones into the Grove and Lyon's forest. Much like the plantlife, even, many had been harvested of seeds, leaving them clean long after Spring began to end.

Any injured areas would be tended to as best as possible through healing and cleansing means, while the hunt through the forest continued for signs of undead.

Leo would hear some Spirits lamenting about extreme cold that is killing them from below.. brought by the scavengers food.

Melorion would see the tracks of many roving bands and he would also notice that there are more of them than recently.. his fellow Akh´Velahr Scouts would tell him about many skirmishes with undead bands that they constantly fight to Keep their numbers as low as possible.

There are many plants that need healing and they seem to recover slowly when nurtured back.. it seems many animals have fled the area themselves.. fleeing from the unnatural creatures invading.

Narquess would soon spot an area deep in the forest where serveral trees are dead or dying.. a score of ghouls feasting on some corpses of elves and animals there.

The actions the Druids took at the edge of the forest had the desired effect and saved a lot of lives and most of the animals there are safe... however, deep in the forest near the City of Myth Drannor where the bulk of the undead are residing, the situation is a different one. There, the elven Scouts of the Akh´Velahr and elven druids are fighting a growing number of undead that are pouring out of the ruins of Myth Drannor and laying waste to the forest around.

Serveral scores of animals arrive in the grove.. panicked.. seeking shelter in the grove, knowing by instinct they might be safe there.
