Shadowdale Reconstruction: Rp

*Note: I have included previous rp of people cleaning debris prior to this event. If anyone knows of any other player attempts to clean debris that I have missed please PM them to me.

Updates: This is to be assumed as common knowledge and may be freely spoken about.

Upon the first weekend of reconstruction, the main focus was upon Town Hall and crafting

The Half-Orc Gruum, a water gensai named Still Waters, Vaelin the monk, a newcomer named Ziina, Malkaris the paladin, Soren the swordsman cleared out the Town Hall, and managed to drag remaining bodies out to be buried. They uncovered the basement, however it is currently flooded to the ceiling and requires team-coordinated dives to explore it’s depths.
Ilsa and Slipri, two crafters who volunteered their services for the betterment of the town, spent their days over the forge.

Thusfar, the town is slowly beginning to reform. Things are slow, and quiet, but progress is churning forward.

Upon the first fortnight of the reconstruction:

Great progress has been made in the resources department. Several things have been salvaged and it looks like construction will be smooth sailing with the efforts put in.

Kelemth: Found; several support beams, hinges, usable straight nails, usable locks, and two panes of window glass that were reusable.

Sordoc: Found; used but sturdy rope, two intact pullies, Several keys to locks (that may or may not open the locks found by Kelemth.) Five Corner stones that were intact and reusable.

Gruum, Lyra, Sordoc: Aquired weaponry for the militia.

Ilsa: (Putting your supplies in the crafting thread) Has worked tirelessly and has covered more ground than a smith should healthily do. There is little concern for supply shortages thanks to her efforts.

Wester: (putting your crafting item in the crafting thread) Has built a Water Pump. It's a strange almost gnomish looking device...one wonders how it works.

Kelemth and Oddvar: Went into the goblin tunnels looking for supplies and found several pieces of ore, and some bolts of cloth stolen by the town a while ago. They also found a few more salvaged useables here and there.

Wester has begun pumping water out of the Town Hall

Ilsa has completed her new tool with the help of the forge dwarf. They can not create glass and nails rapidly

Items for fire warding have been collected, and the work is progressing towards fire-proofing.

Natalia, Binwin, and Mike have cleared out the remaining debris from the housing. They found the remains of a girl's life in the debris, and it was successfully returned to her.

Over the course of the day ilsa and the smith work with shaort breaks, the dwarf keeping the forge hot as ilsa works the metals, together they begin the long and arduous task of making the parts that will keep the new buildings together.

after a long day of work ilsa retires under order of the smith to the tavern where she grabs some well deserved sleep, a smile on her face for the work she's done....and still has to do.

Once again ilsa can be seen around town gathering supplies from her stores and working teh forge till the late hours with the dwarven smith crafting more of the necessary ironworkings for teh reconstruction.
When not working the forge she takes small trips to gather the necessary reagents for the wardings that were mentioned, not being an alchemist herself she leaves that work for the professionals.

Sordoc goes to look over the ruined buildings of North Shadowdale. But can't make heads nor tails of what might be salvagable


Returning to Shadowdale He happens across Kelemth, who is recruited for a small sum to help look over the ruins to see if his eyes can see anything of use for salvage.

Starting with the ruins around the militia grounds and Northern Shadowdale. Sordoc makes notes on his clipboard of anything that may be useful as well as what Kelemth spotted.

The pair return to the Shadowdale market, and the report is handed in to the people leading the rebuilding efforts, with notes on possible salavagable materials

As he was chatting with some friendly strangers (Oddvar, Ruffus and Kaze') around the campfire Kelemth remembered an idea he had for helping the town rebuild. He invited those there to raid the nearby goblin tunnels for whatever useful they might have there. All of them accepted and so the group was formed. They headed to the tunnels and cleared them while looking for resources the town could use.

With the flooded basement of the town hall Wester ponders on the problem for a few days.  He has a spark of imagination and  sketches up an idea for a bilge pump.



He then goes to work on this idea forging the pump with some newly aquired iron.

As good a smith as ilsa is the long hours and heavy workload ar beginning to show their strain on the girl,still working hard but beginning to falter a little.

The general population can be heard talking about an expedition to the west that brought an assortment of gemstones back,
to be used in the reconstruction. Involved were those of the following names:
Vaelin, Ilsa Smitzen, Kelemth.

After a weeks work, Wester finishes the bilge pump complete with a length of leather hide drainage tubing ((Craft Armour 50 / Craft Weapon 39 )).  He'd sit a moment and admire his craftsmanship, then his mind would flashback to the last moments in the prison basement.  The presence of the vampire that had been down there had bothered him.  The negotiation with the fiend had ended badly and it was he himself who brought the crumbling ruin of the town hall crashing down.  It was the right thing to do, he told himself.  It was obvious to Wester that the undead that inhabited the tunnel remains under the Twisted Tower had found a way into the Town-hall basement.  Collapsing the structure had bought them time.  Time that had now run out.



He'd pat the pump then haul it over his shoulder leaving the forge.  Setting up the pump he'd run the drainage line out to the river. He go in search of a local, working on site, and show them the simple operation of the pump. He'd offer them a fair wage should they empty the water from the flooded basement.




((Will exchange 20 bars of iron / 25 wolf pelts for the RP pump and a 1000 coins for the eventually emptying of the flooded basement))

ilsa once again sets herself to work, after some respite from her endeavour to the mines and its subsequent tragedy she re-focuses herself and sets to work with a passion.

Vagabound's event: Lyra, Sordoc and Gruum wished for the weapons wagon to be given to shadowdale. It was given to the militia to further rebuild it's defenses.

Ilsa takes a little time from the heavy smelting adn ironwork to work on smaller more intricate tasks like locksmithing and more delicate ironworkings.

after some time at this she takes a well needed break and goes over the stocks they have, materials collected for smithing, components already made and lists of jobs left to do.

hey there mr dwarf i've got an idea for somethin real special....aint worked on it long though so i'll need ya helpin for it.

*rolls out the papers onto a table, each one containing the design of seperate parts of something strangely gnomish for a human to have scribbled down*

if ya in for it mebbe ya can help a girl out with it, we're gonna build somethin to help us get craftin faster.

*over a course of a few hours she explains each blueprint and component list describing two seperate machines, one built to extrude metal for easy nail manufacture and one built for the productions of regular sized glass panes (thanks to ideas from Dawn)*

Darvius, the Sun Soul Monk, can often be seen at the abandoned housing, assisting in the clearing of debris. With his martial training and mastery of the heaven's fist technique he is able to break beams with his bare hands, clear stone with a single punch and greatly speed up the process of tearing down old destroyed structures.

When not aiding in this task he can also be seen assisting farmers with the repair of their damaged fields, pulling plows with his body or running at swift speeds assisting in the planting of the new crop. He also spends much time counseling and speaking to any refugees currently housed in the House of the Moonmaiden telling stories to the children and adults alike.

The dwarven smith rubs his beard and furrows his brow as Ilsa shows him the blueprints.

"thas'a mighty tall order lass. But f'any un can do it. S'me. You jus focus on them gnome-parts, and I'll make tha rest"

The dwarf says with a nod, and moves to stoke the forge. Fire spits to life out of the stone door.

The farmers, at first, are reluctant for help from people they do not know. However they cannot be choosey, and they take help in their fields where they can get it. Most are still in the Farms towards Myth, so the workforce is only a few men to tend the fields. Lunch is provided and brought out in large groups for the workers.

It is their small way of repaying the efforts of the adventurers, not in gold or gems, but homemade breads and meals.

Two casks around Five hundred pounds in weight each are rolled one at a time from the Tentacus Keep to the Donation Wagon.  The first barrel is branded with the words 'IRON SULFATE - MOSS KILLER', the second barrel is branded with 'UREA NITRATE - CONCENTRATED MANURE'.

If either barrel is opened the contents would appear as follows:

The Moss Killer would appear as brownish-orange granules and smell like copper coins.  Under the lid of the cask there would appear smaller branded text.

MOSS KILLER: SIMILAR TO USING RUSTED IRON FILINGS AS A MOSS DETERRENT OVER A PERIOD OF DAY THIS ALCHEMICAL BLEND OF IRON AND ACID WILL GO THE JOB IN A FRACTION OF THE TIME. DIRECTIONS OF USE - SCATTER A SPOONFUL AT A TIME OVER MOSSY GROUND.  MOSS SHOULD BLACKEN ALMOST INSTANTLY AS IF BURNING OR MELTING.  

The Concentrated Manure would appear as a whitish golden crystals, almost like rock salt.  Under the lid of the cask there would be text like the first cask.

CONCENTRATED MANURE:  CASK CONTAINS ENOUGH TO COVER FIVE ACRES IN COMPARISON OF THREE THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED OF DRY MATTER GENERALLY USED. DIRECTIONS OF USE - SOW IN THE SAME FASHION AS YOU WOULD  GRAIN SEED IN THE FIELDS.  APPLY AT THE BEGINNING OF SPRING FOR BEST RESULTS.  SLOW RELEASE FERTILIZER.

Ilsa is hard at work once more but this time on finer things, she spends time with teh smith to forge the parts they need, the dwarf works on the more robust framework and larger components while ilsa spends her time crafting and carving the finer mechanicals*

A blond woman in fine attire , yet professional, strolls the street , looking at the damages to buildings and structures. Dressed in caramel brown leather vest over cream color silk blouse with lace at the sleeves , a dark belt and long skirt, she would be seen asking folks about who is in charge of the town's reconstruction ...

Since he finds manual labor too boring a job for his age Dresden decides to overwatch the process, patrolling on his own the streets of Shadowdale looking for someone in need of a corrective like only a follower of Hoar can deliver.
