Elektra meets Commander Vorik.

After a word with commander vorik Anastsia Rosenberg has been assigned to teh mages guild with escort, so as to earn a little more grudging respect she sets traight to work with them assisting with the useful warding that the town requires.

Wester puts titan to work with the pump as the sun sets.  Having him drain the water from the town hall basement.

Anastasia with guard in tow sets to work in the crafters hall figuring out what must be done to ward the necessary buildings effectively with the materials they posess.

base values:
alchemy - 32
lore - 21
spellcraft - 32

after a great deal of time Anastasia (guard in tow) would put this suggestion to the mage guild leaders.

In regards to the warding of the town against flames I put the following thoughts to your review.

instead of simply casting a great enchantment to blanket the central area or even warding specific buildings i would suggest a mixture of the two arts. The creation of foci with a smaller area coverage, these could be placed within necessary buildings around town but also grant some protection to the surroundings as well.
these foci however would have a weakened effect to directly warding the building itself but i will assume the townsfolk would prefere some modecum of protection for more than just "important" buildings, they would also use considerably less material to create and overlapping cover will lend some resiliency to the system if one or more should be damaged or destroyed.

what i believe should be aquired for each foci would be the following.

*she would provide a small partchment with ingredients*

glowing fire essence - for the resiliency enchantment
glowing power essence - for the boosted area of effect
Fine jewel - to hold the enchant (suggest using the onyx from the mining event)
cut stone - as a mounting point for the foci once crafted

*she would let them read over the note and ponder her suggestion for now*

After the best part of two tenday Ilsa and the dwarven smithy finally accomplish their task and construct the devices to speed up the making of materials for shadowdale.

a fine machine used for molding glass panels for windows and a rather complex looking thing that seems to simply make thin metal rods about as slender as the nails they've been using.

*dusting off herself and a little of mr dwarf she stands looking upon teh fine devices*

well mr dwarf i think we can say we done good right here, now all we need do is pour the molten metals and glass into these here funnels and we'll be on easy street for winda's and nails

A returning dalelander finding the town in shambles begins to set her back to helping the folks she grew up around before she sets to her own wishes.

After some time away from town, Kelemth employs Chara, who was begging for money on the street, to help him clear the fields of rubble. After it is all done he hands Sordoc a report about the activity. It is detailed to an unnecessary extent, and most of the bureaucracies are properly filled.

Anastasia continues to fulfil her current contract of assisting the mages guild for access to the towns facilites, her guard looking extremely bored of her quiet task involving magics they could barely underrstand.
*she spends her time plotting and planning how she will fully implement her area covering totem wardings, going our regularly to gather materials for the plan*

Ilsa spends her time working with the smith starting to make joints and pulleys for lifts and cranes to start any heavy building work and repairs of old but still usable structures.

Adventurers and Workers set about a very busy day today. Building the new Homes and Hospital for shadowdale.

They were completed without any difficulties. A tent was also raised next to the temple of Chauntea.

A cleric blessed the two buildings from evil and death. (minor blessing)

And a few others planted lightning rods on the rooftops to protect them from storms.

During one of the recent nights, Sordoc will give the gate guards a heads up as he goes about studying the embankment outside the east walls.





Then he prepares his oversized tabard, casts his wand of light to let the militia know who's out there and polymorphs into an umberhulk and begins to dig away into enbankment near the wall, slowly at first and piles the soil further up the embankment.





The digging seems painfully slow at first, many hidden roots and stones.


After the first casting is over, Sordoc will complain and grumble, and then continue his work, casting another spell of Polymorph from his wand, leaving the big trees alone, but piling the soil on the embankment, and trying to whistle a jaunty tune through the umberhulk mouth parts.



After the third casting, he takes a break and studies the embankment.

"Thissens' gonna take a fair bit... now ta find a druid o' two."
