Zhentarim Oppression

A large crowd gathered today at Shadowdale's main intersection to witness a public display of Zhentarim cruelty.

A halfling woman, head and hands held in place by miniature wooden stocks, was flogged before the townspeople and various adventurers by a Zhentarim Sergeant. Appeals for mercy were made and ignored, and one dwarven man who spoke openly against the cruelty was soundly beaten by a pair of Swordhands upon the Sergeant's order.

The woman's actual crime went unannounced, though it was suggested that an ill-humored joke was involved.

A dark hooded Tiefling may have been seen sneering at the spectacle in amusement as the local populace raised their voices in protest.

She later left once the scene had died down, leaving a few choice words for the dissidents regarding their foolish behaviour against those who provide full protection of the town and it's lands from far worse enemies.
