This is where all DM Rumours will be posted.

1. Any rumor involving a NPC's reaction to anything will only be posted by staff

2. Anyone reading this can assume staff received IC proof if it is started by a PC and/or witnessed the starting itself.

3. Rumors behave like any rumor and get warped with the retelling, posts will try and reflect this.

The Ranger's Nest

The local rangers of the Dales finish their first stage of the treehouse and put the bucket transportation into use. Druids and rangers visiting the Grove would be greeted by the rangers and asked if they wish to visit the recently completed treehouse nest. The rangers mention that some supplies will be available soon to those curious.

Rumors of an assassin going by the name of "Slice" spread like wildfire among the slaves and prostitutes in Free Haven. The name is spoken with fear and anxiety. And with the rising number of prostitutes who are being found dead or missing, the rumors seem to ring with truth.

However... across town, rumors spread of another assassin, an elf. It is told that he is fearsome and perhaps even more skilled than Slice. Slaves and merchants can be overheard discussing who the better assassin must be and why, and who they think would win in a fight.

Word on the street is a man named Silas is searching for this elven assassin.

New rumors spread that a large party is being planned at the Dancing Homunculus to take place in the upcoming weeks. Chefs, waitstaff, and performers are being hired to take part in this event.

Rumors spread among the clients and slaves at the Dancing Homunculus about a skilled elven wizard wearing a ridiculous hat. He is rumored to be fairly new in town, and to be the best of the best.

Some staff at the Homunculus speak of an overweight man inquiring about the slave trade and gathering information on the Dancing Homunculus as well as its owner/proprietor. This man is often seen wandering in and out of the establishment.

Excitement levels are high as the date for the party draws closer.

Slave traders in Free Haven can be overheard grumbling about the market these days. Prices are high and the stock is bad. Many are complaining that if this trend continues, they might be moving on.

People hearing these rumors comment that the recent tensions in the area have put a strain on the market, and they worry as shady figures and hooded men roam about the town in increasing numbers.

Slavers continue to complain as their trade routes become increasingly dangerous. More and more raids are reported, which often result in slaves being able to flee from captivity. Rumors also begin to spread of slaves within Free Haven going missing or turning up dead.

The Homunculus is buzzing with activity as everyone gets ready for the party. What slaves are left have been working hard to make sure everything is scrubbed, dusted, and polished. An overweight man can be seen grumbling to himself as he watches the slaves work.

Whispered conversations report that the Homunculus continues cleaning up after the party, and that at least three bodies were removed from the Inn afterward. No one seems to know anything for certain, although a man named Vent speaks nervously of three robed and masked men who might have been the source of the commotion.

Others put the blame on a man with a reputation for cruelty and harshness, a man who lacks morals or regard for human life. A man whose name they only dare to speak in whispers, fearing his network of spies, “Damon.”

The assassin Slice has not been seen or heard from since the day of the party.

Slavers continue to complain about the raids and the theft of their stock. Many have begun to give up and move on, cutting their losses and no longer appearing at the auction.

With the disappearance of Slice, slaves and prostitutes have stopped turning up dead for the most part, aside from the occasional casualty from a drunken fight. Although the killings have died down, burglaries and robberies are on the rise, increasing dramatically in number. Shady hooded figures lurk around every corner.

The rumors say that with Slice and his thugs gone, the local thieves guild is rising into prominence.

Rumors of beetles, rats, and even undead erupting from the ground begin to circulate around the region.

Reports of a devil ripping through town make their way into the local gossip. There are also rumors of an apartment being robbed. At least three men are reported missing, all last seen fleeing from an alley in the dark passages of Free Haven.

A man named Vors is rumored to have put in an order for at least three high quality slaves, and is willing to pay handsomely upon their delivery, which must be within a ten day.

In the late of night, a fire erupts somehow along a brush, tree, and eventually Natalya's caravan. These three things are utterly destroyed. How the fire started is speculation right now, but Natalya seems upset, saying something about an elemental.

Luckily, wherever Natalya stations her caravans has another traveling wagon prepared. Considering how many issues like this arise, she is ready for things. Caravan travels to the Crossroads can continue. The wreckage rests to the side.

During a severe storm several days ago a wagon belonging to the Greyscales was attacked and torched at the edge of Krag. Many of the guards were seen hanging from a nearby tree. What it was carrying seemed like simple supplies and food.

On the slopes of Krag, bodies and bones are being burned and destroyed by pyre, overseen by Clerics of Bane. Soldiers patrol the mountain in more force and more frequently than usual, harshly questioning anyone who they come across.

Whispers come from Krag of the Undead and cloaked men and women clashing with the Zhentarim and Clerics of Bane. Tales are told of a vicious battle in which the Darklord's Hand, a scourge who caused many to kneel in fear, was slain. Stories are murmured of a Skymage Master who was drunk with power, struck from within.

Worst of all, it is said that the Chosen Tyrant of Bane, Fzoul Chembryl, will visit Castle Krag himself.

Within Krag, soldiers have begun to drill harder, those who slack are beaten. Merchants begin calling in favors to acquire the best wares. The magi study harder, and the Clerics of Bane become the epitome of devotion. All others shiver in fear. Fzoul Chembryl would settle for nothing less.

Alarming news begins to spread. A force of Zhentarim Soldiers 1000 strong is marching from Voonlar towards Krag. Amongst these soldiers are powerful knights, spellswords, and no less than 8 Skymagi with two apprentices each.

Due to weather, and other problems, this force has been stalled. They will be arriving within the next Tenday.
