This is where all DM Rumours will be posted.

1. Any rumor involving a NPC's reaction to anything will only be posted by staff

2. Anyone reading this can assume staff received IC proof if it is started by a PC and/or witnessed the starting itself.

3. Rumors behave like any rumor and get warped with the retelling, posts will try and reflect this.

In the mist and darkness of the evening, shadows of crates and furniture fade as they are brought to the fulling mill. The workers vanish into the darkness as they bring it in. A man dressed in noble clothes smelling of alcohol steps out of the fog and greets the passing by Zhentarim guards and asks them to find his way home. After being warned of arrest for disturbance of peace, the man shrugs and heads back to the Old Skull Tavern for another ale.

As the final days of the festival approach, the remaining festivities are announced which shall bring a close to this year's Harvest Festival. The town crier informs the locals of the following news:

There shall be an performance by the mage known as Angiers for the final show of this year's festival. Any wishing to attend must bring the fifteen coin attendance fee with them.

A match between Lucky Jack and the Widowmaker has been scheduled after many requests and letters were given to his excellence, Lord Mourngrym. Betting will be available on the festival grounds.

For the closing of the festival, a great hunt will be taking place to please the lord Malar, so that the land and its beasts continue to prosper.

A hafling is taken to the earthmother's temple after being injured near the common gathering fireplace. One of the citizens claims to have witnessed bite marks and a bat at the scene, leading to the rumour of a vampire's presence in the local region.

There are rumors spreading around town that a woman has been found dead in the Old Skull Inn, near the stairs to the attic. She has supposedly been both stabbed to death and poisoned. Reports are vague as the Zhentarim know very little about this crime.
The woman was, according to the rumors, a commoner, but not from the Dales. The people at work in the Old Skull Inn seem reluctant to speak about it.

Also in other news, one of the farmers seems to be having rat problems, and is often heard complainning when he makes his trips into town to sell his farm goods for what coin he can get.

The Farm at the end of the small road, close to the goblin barn, seems recently abandoned. Nothing appears to have been taken, and a rake lies casually forgotten in the field behind the house. Neighbors seem confused by the absence of the owners, and do not seem to know why they disappeared.

Word spreads about several recent Drow raids on merchant caravans, some as close as the North Ride and the Edge of the Cormanthor. It's rumored that the dark ones massacred even the unarmed, while others say that at each attack some people were taken prisoner.

A body is found on the outskirts of town with its throat ripped out. Rumors spread among the farmers and they are afraid.

A swordhand found a body outside of Shadowdale and sent word to Shadowdale but no one seemed to show up to investigate the body. More than likely the animals have eaten by now.

Rumors of bandits are shared in the local taverns and inns. People talk of farmers who had lost nearly everything in the harsh winter, supposingly turning to banditry.
However, even as the harsh winter is nearing its end, the bandits continue to raid and plunder.
These said situations seem to be happening in the vicinity of Shadowdale.

Rumors of dramatic changes to the Ranger's Camp at Fox Ridge spread. Word has it that locals helped out in demolishing the old burned out house by the camp. The rangers spoke of rebuilding and planting some kind of magical seeds. Surprise and misfortune struck as fungi outgrew the trees, but the timely aid of local adventures allowed a new camp to built in the verdant canopy.

Rumor has it that the so-called bandits have not ceased their raids and attacks - in fact, they are rumored to be affiliated with a sect of some black-robed demon-worshipers.
Some locals claim this sect worships a demon by the name "Sakkara", and the bandits have indeed been seen aiding these black-robed Sakkara-worshipers.

Local farmers in the vicinity of Shadowdale are growing weary of the continued raids on their farms and homes - and the Zhentarim are not helping much on the outskirts of Shadowdale - as such they plan to gather a group of local adventurers, and put an end to these pointless attacks. ((A series of events coming up soon))

Rumors of beetles, rats, and other vermin seeming to erupt from the ground circulate around Shadowdale and the surrounding areas.

It is rumoured in Shadowdale that Glamerie will no longer be digging paperwork as she has been dooing last 6 months. therefor she is moving her daytime office to the Northern Shadowdale fields which has been giving decreasing harvest. Glamerie welcomes people to join her in the fields, both with scyte in the harvest and for discussions and decisionmaking

Rumors first between the guards, then a woman with pigtails and blond hair overhears and begins spreading them with a giggle.

"Did you hear? Some funny worshippers of the Mad God were caught! Then they hurt someone and got away! Hehehe! Isn't that so funny? Wow! I didn't think this place would be that incompetent, but I guess it is. How fun!"

She skips around a bit, spreading the word and watching people's reactions.

"I heard that it was done by the man. He had a funny arm, mhm! Paralyzing, the guards say! I bet the Black Hounds didn't see that coming! Gosh!" She laughs.

One guard in particular attempts to stop her, but she quickly disappears. He then makes his way to find one of the Deputies to make the report of what happened.

A fair deal of rumors roam the lips of those in Shadowdale..

A horrid stench of rot was emanating from room eleven within the Old Skull Inn, many patrols who frequent the inn would speak of a murder of a young half-elf girl. Some whisper that she was strangled in a lovers quarrel, but most believe it has something to do with the Mad God and the body found at the crossroads.

A man named Uthar Lirn who states he works for a Mercantile Guild of sorts, named Vivar Mercantile has been asking around in regards to the murders. He is known to be the sole survivor of an attack on a caravan he was in charge of, there are rumors that he deliberately lead them into a trap resulting in the death of a noble knight, a dozen men, women, and even children.

Sunday June 29th: Throughout the day. I am going to try to start early enough for our Australian friends to have some fun. Theme of event: Chat based and festival. All NPCs present. All levels open.

Announcements and posters a put around Shadowdale announcing a Spring Festival in several days time. Entertainers are encouraged to perform on the open stage, merchants are encouraged to join the exotic merchants selling wares, there will be an archery contest, an opportunity for entertaining good sported mage duels, sparring competitions. An important announcement from the elders, food, drink will all be included. Any who are lawfully allowed inside the town of Shadowdale are welcome.

Rumors spread of an angry mob that attempted to hang a woman with dusky skin. Certain words called out were 'Witch', 'Monster', 'Demon-blood', 'Drow Blood'. The attempted hanging was stopped by Elder Torst, who angrily demanded the woman be detained like the others of her kind whom were at the festival where nine people were murdered. The people of Shadowdale continue to mutter about 'drow lovers' and how nothing will ever be done for retribution against the slain townsfolk. Rather than worry about the Undead in the Daggerhills that threaten ALL, they seem to be stuck on racial issues.

After the destruction of a caravan line bringing food, people begin to show worry about food supply. Prices increase slightly in the cost of food, and farmers are more leery about their crops. There is a general concerned feeling amongst the people of the town of Shadowdale.

They do, however, seem to feel safe. The militia works hard towards patrolling, the walls have been hallowed and hardened, and generally an attack of the undead is not something they fear just yet. They feel as if they are safe within the walls.

Yet with the caravans being raided and months of food being lost, they can't help but think:

"Do the Undead even need to attack? Or will they simply let us starve and destroy ourselves?"

The Burning Fields

Last night portions of Shadowdale burned, some of the south fields and hay rolls, and in the north a single field.

If it were not for the quick actions of some local heroes directing the guard and citizens into a water bucket line, alot of people would be going hungry this winter.

this morning the guards charged and surrounded a tall armored figure in town after he cut down a Shadowdale Mage, after convincing them and a half drow to surender and lay down their weapons the guards quickly escort them into the jail house to process them and also send the body to the house of plenty to be given final rites.

Letters are sent out across the land to guild masters and church leaders of lawful or good gods and goddesses. "I commander Asha of shadow here by invite you and if need be tempory lift any bans of entry into shadowdale to attend a Dales War Council which will be held in shadowdale to address the Dark Plague of undead that not only threatens us all as the living, but our Realm, and our Gods..... I invite you heads of established guilds church's of LAW and goodness to attend this Sunday, please come make merry and meet each other and I shall call into session the Dale War Council when all have gathered.....

Lately it is rumoured that Asha seems to be looking more stressed and disheveled than normal as she continues her attempt at running shadowdale in the Elders absence, further more gossip is that she has started drinking to try and get though the day, or maybe just to numb herself to distraction. In any case, here say an rumours hint to her becoming slowly unstable and struggling to cope with the pressure of leadership, could there be truth in this, or is it merely bar talk with little else to it?
