The talk of the town is that the Elders have been seen back in Shadowdale. They've been spotted walking around the town with guards, taking in the townsolk's opinions on matters. The familiar face of Azalar Falconhand has been spotted as well.

A post on the bulletin board in Shadowdale seems to be placed in the center, seemingly very important.

The elderly guard, sporting a eyepatch, greying hair has been seen speaking to Asha, somesay offering advice, some say flirting, does Asha have a thing for older men, or this seemingly more expirenced man stepped forth to offer some much needed council and advice to the young Commander, another question on peoples voice seems to be, just who is he?

Later that day Asha was seen posting a few flyers up.

"Good folk of Shadowdale

If there are any who have been waiting to see me, or need to see me regarding issues, please send in a letters informing me of such, with the return of the elders I now have more time.

Dark days indeed, the town of Shadowdale seems at it worst. With the Undead overshadowing, people are terrified of the night, paranoia eating away at their minds. All it took was the death of one person to make this worse.

Whispers between the townsfolk that the potential Lord of Shadowdale was slain flutter about quickly and with panicked tones. If the Lord is dead, who will take up the reigns? What's worse, the death of Elder Farl eats away at people's minds, making them consider conspiracies and coups. Who was it? Many of the citizens angrily mutter and shoot looks to adventurers, some of the blame apparently being placed on them.

Now with the Elders being placed in jail for treason, the citizens grow angrier and more unhappy at the state of things in the town.

Some folk have noticed two individuals wander to the Old Skull Inn which in itself isn't worthy of much talk. At least until they noticed the known markings of the Grey Scales.

During the evening two men wearing the armor and markings belonging to the Grey Scales were noticed speaking to both townsfolk and adventurers alike. Often showing those who would listen a parchment with some kind of drawing on it.

Those with more loose lips might say they were looking for a dangerous man that was missing an eye, and spoke in rough raspy tones. There were offers of golden crowns involved too!

A Grey Scale known as Ras would have been seen being escorted from the Old Skull Inn to the Shadowdale Jail by a hin known to be a member of the local militia. Not long after the same hin and a man wearing a wide brimmed helm would be seen leaving the inn carrying the corpse of a plump man, stating that he was killed by a man defending himself.

A tall, slender man with fair skin makes his way inside Shadowdale seemingly escorted by a few well-armed men. He seems well dressed and kept, blonde hair perfectly arranged and a full beard on his chin. Strangely enough, upon entry a few of the guards seem to straighten up quickly and give a salute. The man waves them away and does his best not to draw too much attention. He is seen heading straight for the Town Hall.

This Week's Common Knowledge

Heated discussions are said to be taking place between town officials as to Fury worshipers being allowed in town
Kelemvorites have been seen patrolling more often than before outside of the Twisted Tower ruins almost as if searching for something or waiting for something
Talk of another Elder arriving seems to sweep the streets. Whether or not this is true remains to be seen
The militia speaks of a possible training regime made by one of their own. It's unsure whether or not the Elders will approve of it or not, but Commander Vorik is said to be supporting it
A murder happened within the Old Skull Inn, and whispers echo that some of the town militia tried to cover it up
Lady Vymmars has been seen walking with a number of her guards around some of the abandoned properties north of the wall of Shadowdale with a rather long piece of parchment, taking notes
Lord Bladesmile hasn't been seen around much
Small crimes such as thefts seem to be on the rise
Luckily the sowing season has arrived. Food was beginning to become closer to a shortage once more, but the House of Plenty believes this to be a prosperous year with grains in the fields that weren't salted
Alexander Lewenhart has been reinstated as Sheriff of Shadowdale

As night fell members of the militia rushed to the west entrance to Shadowdale at the sighting of a small force of fifty Cormyrian Mercenaries known as the Grey Scales. A woman claiming to be their commander, Thlaria. Spoke to Commander Vorik for some time about terms at the bridge.

Something was returned to the Grey Scales and before they left they announced a bounty of one hundred thousand coin to anyone who found a ring of some kind, or the man known as Tlarther.

Rumours make there way around Shadowdale that there was some kind of bloated undeathly creatures that attacked at the banks of the Ashaba near the crossroads. A man was killed in the attack, another, a female knight from Cormyr who had just arrived hours earlier was rushed into the temple with grave wounds.

The knight was later seen moving to the Old Skull Inn where she is staying now.

Just before dawn two men clad in full armour were seen escorting a Greyscale Officer to the Shadowdale jails, another Greyscale was also slumped over one of the armoured mans shoulders.

Rumor has it that a gruesome murder happened in the South section of Shadowdale. Some say that a woman's face was skinned clear off. Others say that she was stabbed and drained of all her blood. No one seems to know who the woman was just yet.

Another whisper spreads through that a second murder has happened, this time to the West of town. The talk is the same, a face being skinned off. This time, a guard was seen walking through town to the hospital with a stick that had an eyeball stuck into it.

A contingency of Helmites and a few militiaman begin packing their things for what looks like a small journey. Weapons are sharpened, armor is cleaned, and traveling supplies are counted amongst each other. Their small gathering seems to be posted around the West for now. It's likely they'll be leaving within a day's time, if not less. If asked what they are doing, none of them give many details other than a general 'escorting caravan' answer.

The Helmites and a number of militia leave the next day, saying their farewells and state they will be back soon. One in particular mentions how nice it is that they'll finally be getting hounds and horses and that they hope what they heard wasn't true.

There was a small raid on the eastern gate by a group of bugbears today. None of the guards were killed, but some were injured. Adventurers who had come to the aid of the guards helped piling the bodies onto a pyre. While all seemed well, some of the charred bodies leaped from the fire and began attack and slinging spells. Panic reigned as the guards tried to get the situation under control. Many people were injured. It is whispered that a woman wearing a mask took the undead down with just her fists. Everyone involved was able to be revived, thankfully.

There are also words whispered that a sack of Zhentarim coins was found on one of the bugbears, and that it isn't only the bugbears that have become more aggressive. So too have the gnolls and goblins.

Word spreads that during the night, the entrance of the Town Hall seemed to collapse more, a few people coming out from inside. It is rumored that one of those very people that were seen was Elder Dorn.

Many of the people of Shadowdale seem to be packing light supplies for a small trip of sorts. Whispers are that instead of a festival for Midsummer, they'll be meeting their loved ones who have taken refuge in Myth Drannor.

More word would reach Shadowdale that a group of well armed adventurers that were caught off guard by a combined force of Orcs and Gnolls. They acted swifter then anticipated, taking several corpses with them and leaving the rest to rot.

Thankfully a Ranger witnessed the exchange. The elf managed to save several of the fallen from their fate. When asked about the assault he spoke of a masked humanoid standing atop the cliff, likely the one orchestrating the attack.

The work of the adventurers and locals to rebuild the town has been succeeding. Several people have been trying to return home, or to what remains of it. There is talk of a few adventurers assisting people in getting their lives put back together.
The House of Chauntea, a temple that had fallen quiet for some time in the disaster is renewed with the talk of a new Chauntean.
Commander Vorik has been getting some praise for his work towards getting the town back together, and some critisisms. There are a few farmers rather miffed with him for his insistence that they cannot cut down trees on their own property to rebuild their barns though. Usually with mumbling behind his back of "symbolic my foot...s'my tree I should be able ta cut it down."
Help is still wanted around town as more farmers return.
The Bounty on drow ears remains.

There was a battle on a drow raid at Fox Ridge, nearby the town.

Mineva shot the commander. Commander Vorik was injured due to friendly fire. It is well known it was an accident. Most find it hilarious, though many of the guards are now giving her dirty looks.

A drow assassin attempted to take advantage of the wounded Commander; the guards by the gate say he was nearly attacked but by chance a group of adventurers talked him into seeking medical attention making him leave the gate before the assassin could strike.

The Injured Commander remains in the Temple of Chauntea.

Word is going around that Bandits held up the road between Shadowdale and the Crossroads. A group of adventurers sent them packing and disarmed the traps they set to ensnare unwary travelers. A hin reported that Bandits attacked him, but left him for dead and set off after other prey. Travelers become wary, as do the guards, all begin watching for suspicious activity on the roads.

Rumors from a Farmer Phil have been spreading that drow are drugging his prized milking cow; Betsy.
Most believe Phil had too many drinks at the bar, but several people have spotted smaller dark figures lurking in the night. One adventurer claiming a they fired arrows at them, then disappeared after a shadow fell over them.

The rumors are fueled further by a separate incident that sparked flames in the shadowdale woods.
