Commander Lucky,
I was banned from you town for "preaching" my faith. In truth I was not preaching, but rather a man asked me about my faith at the fire. I was answering his questions when I was approached by Lendrick. He began to verbally assult me, quickly moving into physical. I made no moves to resist him, but he continued his assult. In your laws was no mention of speaking of anothers faith, only to not disrespect your own. I made no effort to preach my faith or disrespect your own, I was asked questions by a man and I answered him. Lendrick took it upon himself to beat me down then fine me gold. I paid the sum he asked. Afterwards he took me outside of town, beating me and leaving me for dead.
I respect your laws when I am in your town, I do not seek to preach my faith in your town. All I ask is to peaceable be allowed in your town to be able to conduct business and trade that I might have there. I've not attacked Zhents when they are out on patrol, save once in defence of my own person. The one who assulted me was none other than Lendrick. I am not a part of the Manes, nor the Defenders, or any "rebels". I simply wish to be able to enter town peacefully and conduct business. This is benificial to the Zhents as well as the coin I spend there goes towards your town.
But from what had happened, I was unlawfully attacked by one of your Vanguards. If there is a law against speaking ones faith in town I will gladly obey it, as I have obeyed the laws in the past to the best of my abilities. But from what I read on your list of laws, it only states to not disrepect your faith, which I had not done. The only crime Lendrick had upon me was speaking my faith, which if he had simply told me not to I would have complied. Instead he simply beat me down, fined me, took me outside town and left me for dead. There were witnesses to the event as well. All I ask is peaceful non hostilities in your town. I need not speak my faith or have it be known at all.
I appreaciate you time and consideration in reading this letter
With reguards,
Ivaris
