Epic battle in the Cormanthor Empty
PostSubject: Epic battle in the Cormanthor   Epic battle in the Cormanthor EmptyThu Nov 03, 2011 5:43 am

OOC note: I would prefer those who took part to post their side of the story in this. This is Morgans story, and as such, embellishments may be found within.

Another cool breeze swept through the eastern forests of Shadowdale. The cool air left a wonderful sensation on the back of Morgans neck as he made his way to the Beastmens tower. He stopped at the foot of the fallen tree bridging the wide gap in the river between Rimwood and the Cormanthor, and he drew upon the power of the stars to make him invisible. The halfling knew the beastmen were dangerous and he took no risks.

As he made his way across, he spotted three figures in the distance. The invisible hin crouched low in the shrubbery and slowly made his way forth. He pushed a section of grass aside and watched what appeared to be a Drow speaking with a human and a dwarf. And he decided to listen closely.

"Where did dos get that outfit, kivvil?" Inquired the Drow with a hostile tone. Protectively, the dwarf stepped in front and used his tower shield as cover.

Knowing the encounter would escalate meant that Morgan had to think fast. It seemed only a moment he looked away, but his thoughts were interrupted when-- "Prepare to die!"

Morgan bolted upright and watched the Dwarf and Drow clash into each other. He knew he had to do something. Scrambling to his feet, Morgan leapt out of the shrubbery and chanted. "Klaatu, Barata, Nicto!"

A swarm of angry, stinging bees flew from the mouth of the halfling and engulfed the Drow. With a loud Drow curse, the woman slipped out of view and into the shadows. Morgan carefully watched the Dwarfs back as he rushed to the shrubbery in search of the Underdark threat. He found it indeed.

In a bright flash of light, the woman stepped out of the shadows with a cackle. She rained down mighty blows with her dagger and seemed to take delight in the Dwarves literal blind flurry.

The Hin steadied his hand and let loose a stream of acid into the torso of the cackling madwoman. What he saw next happened innthe blink of an eye. He observed the Clerics shadow seemingly step out of the ground, grinning wickedly at her material original. The Drow was speechless. Before she could react, a wave of negative energy shot out of her shadow copy. With a yelp of agony, the mighty cleric fell to her knees and slumped into the grass. Dead.

The two men turned to see the source of this spellcasting and noticed the human, in her smiling glory. They had prevailed that day.
