The following message arrives in the hand of a middle-aged man dressed in practical black travel clothing. It bears the official seal of the Church of Bane.

Commander Jesira Menines:

The Black Lord is aware of your people's perseverance in the face of hardship, and His Church does offer it's aid and support to your people. We will provide food, clothing, protection, arms, armor, and aid in construction of fortifications in return for the right to preach the Lord of Darkness' word and construction of a shrine to ensure your people are blessed as they make battle with the forces of Most Foul Chaos.

Black Fang Raegar Anteos and Hooded Menace Malik Marduk will be arriving shortly to speak with you and provide a token of the Church's well-wishes to your people.

May you and your people walk ever enveloped in the protective shroud of the Dread Lord's shadow.

When one of the travelers coming through the fort go back to Shadowdale, the commander would hand them a letter to deliver back to the Church of Bane

Imperceptor of Shadowdale,

Thank you for your kind words, and of course the offer of aid. But sadly, we'd have to decline the offered aid for we'd be unable to provide what you desire in return. We wish our camp to withstand our neutral point as much as we can, and allowing a shrine or open preaching of deities can start unpleasant strife with others. And rest assured, your not the first we've declined of such offers, a priest of Sune desired the same as well as an archer of Sheverash but both were declined. Of course, your people can come, rest and pray to their god if they desire. Either way, we are looking forward to Raegar and Maliks visit.
