PostSubject: To the group calling itself wardens   To the group calling itself wardens EmptyTue Nov 15, 2011 12:34 pm

A knight from the morning farms hangs notices around myth drannor:

It has come to my attention that a group calling itself the wardens has been using the church of the morninglord as a gathering spot. while the church does accept poor souls in need of shelter we are not a den for vagabonds to lounge about with no regards to the sanctity of this place.

I demand an apology from the leader of the wardens and an explanation as to why this happened.

*Castor hears of this and sets a notice on the front door of the temple*

This is a place of faith, a temple built to honor the Morning Lord, come in peace and you will be welcomed. Try and force your way into this santuary and the wrath of Lathander will find you.

In the name of our Lord I ask that the halls of Lathander is not used as a common Inn, where the next plot or adventure is planed.

Insulting and shoting arrows against a sworn knight of the temple, can only bring me to question your motives even further, and make my resolve to safeguard our Lords house even greater.

people please remain calm

the temple was used to meet in private yes donations were made to the temple for the time and space use yes..

they were brought there by a monk to meet and decide what ways they could best serve the people as well as nature..

some meetings may have been about so called adventures but it was done so to protect the people... and no tarnish came to the temples reputation..

and since you so said its not a meeting place then any good that came from the wardens will not be associated with the church..

i sat in on a couple of meetings and seen nothing that would reflect badly on either the church or this warden group..

until now and that goes for both sides...

we are people of peace here we defend the people as well as each other lets keep this in mind for the future and try to control our anger until all sides have been heard peacefully..

we are adults after all we should set the example for the younger generations..
after all what effects one effects us all..

so check your pride and anger at the door and speak like adults to each other and show respect to fellow citizens and discuss such things in peaceful manner rather than automaticaly jumping to fight mode over a simple misunderstanding..

this goes for both sides period..

Good sir blue mage

I would like to discuss this matter and to perhaps correct the wrong impression the arrow flinging hoodlum has imparted on me of your group.

"The Blue Mage speaks true. In such troubled times, we need to be united by common causes and the voice of reason." says the newly ordained Monastic Abbot at the Church of Lathander, as he gazes pensively out of the window in the direction of Shadowdale.

After being deep in the Cormathor forest for about a week on clan business Valtore returns to Myth Drannor. Upon seeing the notices regarding the Wardens he bursts out laughing till tears wet his beard. After a few minutes the laughter subsides and he heads back to the inn shaking his head, mumbling something about humans.

Tyndal observes the notices, arches a brow, mutters something about a boatman agreeing, and returns to his business.

*Wytrhan pulls blue aside as he finsihes the letter* The coronal has tasked me to deal with this situation directly. What would you tell them so we are speaking with one voice?

*he also posts tacks up a letter concerning the issues*
Gentlemen this has gone on long enough. The Coronal has tasked me with resolving this issue. Elric as you seem to be representing the Church in this I urge you to seek me out. TO the Wardens whoever your representative is choose them and have them seek me out. In the absence of knowledge assumption has taken hold and things have spiraled.

*a quick conversation takes place between Elijah and Wytrhan and another notice goes up*

It has occured to me that the Wardens have used this church as a meeting ground long before now and in truth were one of the few people to actually keep the old priest company there. Without their regular visits I would dare say that the church would go unused for long stretches at a time. We are pleased that the Dawn now has new takers, but this seems to be an odd attempt at territorialism guided by misplaced egos on both sides.

The term 'pissing match' has assailed my ears more then once and I did my best to down play such labeling, part of me cannot help see a degree of truth in it. Send representatives to me quickly and let us resolve these differences. I am afraid far to much focus is on this trivial matter as opposed to things more pressing.

Earalia makes a note to Wythran.

"I am concerned by your dismissal of these events as a trivial matter.

Arrows were fired at the church of Lathander and at a representative of the church.
Arrows were fired at a bystander in the camp of Myth Drannor.
Priests of Lathander and of Corellon were insulted.

*He responds*

Lets not add fuel to the fire. This will be resolved let it play out. Mistakes were made on both sides, they will be resolved. Additionally, the intial issue was trivial what spiraled since then is not, thus me being assighned this matter. I will focus clearly on diplomatic matters and resolve real issues. As for insults and egos that will be left to others.

Valtore has not been involved in this pointless argument, but will point out the founder and leader of the Wardens is: Sinjin Kane, Monk of the Sun Soul. A follower of Lathander. Which is why we meet in the Temple of Lathander. It was decided that because we are not common adventures but a group of like minded fellows who wish to promote good in the dales without the politics of the war. Which again is another reason the Temple of Lathander was chose.

Again due to the fact that this is a pointless argument Valtore is not getting involved. There are real treats to the Dales that take up more of his time than a ridiculous argument over who did what, or who insulted who. If there are any adults who wish to discuss this he would suggest that they look for Sinjin or Julia as they are the leaders of the Wardens. Then again feel free to keep bickering.

When your meeting takes place, it is important that I hear your words. I have been collecting information and have many opinions of the present sitaution to impart on you both. By your actions you have invovled the Coronal in this situation so now a third party has interest.

Elric Lightmane
Paladin of The Order Of The Aster and Dawnmaster of the Church Of Lathander

We have been approached in this matter and have recommended Our Deputy as one to talk to try to sort the situation out.

Please listen to Our Deputy. He has Our respect and We wish to see him treated by others in the same way.

We are attempting to aid in this fairly small situation and suggest that all involved remember their allegience to Gods and to the nature of working together.

We respect the Church. But we also suggest that all of you take a step back, take a deep breath, remenber what is important, which is the refugees and the evil of the zhents, and sort this out in quick haste and concentrate on the true evils.

In the temple of Lathander, the Abbot approaches Elric and updates him of chanced meetings with Wythran and Blue in the Myth Drannor camp, both of whom asked with concern about the recent spate of events.

The Abbot shares about the level-headedness and empathy that he sensed from Wythran and Blue respectively, qualities that he very much appreciated. He also advises that the one who shot the arrow at Elric's feet is likely not representative of the Wardens' manner in general, and an amicable meeting to clarify the matter with Wythran and the heads of the Wardens will be most beneficial, if not an opportunity to extend friendship and even enfold more under the glorious cause of the Morninglord.

With that, and a soft almost imperceptible sigh, Elijah returns to his monastery duties, his robes shuffling in the hallways of the Temple of Dawn.

/// gentle reminder:

"Temples and shrines to Lathander provide aid to adventurers and communities in their area as long as such aid is returned in good faith. Priests of Lathander try tirelessly to encourage those of good alignments to the more dedicated worship of the Morninglord if they are not already Lathanderites, but they do not insist on conversions or withhold aid if they are refused. Taeron walks around the notes, looks at them and blinks.

"What a bloody waste of parchments."

He mutters and leaves.

/// that may be caused by the fact that there was no authority when the Wardens were created.
