This is a recounting of the events of the previous cycle, in which the kivvil Jin'Cathul was made to answer for his crimes before the altar of our dark queen, under the direction of Yath'abban Nhileari.
Beginning with a recounting of his crimes, (of which trespassing, deception and insolence were some of many) the kivvil was made to understand that he would be made to suffer for his crimes, and used to warn others of the cost of displeasing the Ilythiiri.
Once such was made clear the kivvil prisoner was subdued by means of a mind enchantment of Faern Elvlyn's weaving
Brought before the altar, the purpose of the gathering was made clear to those who had arrived late. The prisoner valiantly, though futilely, tried to escape only to have it's mind dominated again. Once again subdued, the kivvil was strapped to the altar, at which point, Chagrin, under Nhileari's supervision began his torture of the creature.
Now, with the prisoner sufficiently broken, Nhileari pressed a blade to it's throat and offered a prayer to Lolth in elven, as befit a major rite to the Mother of Spiders. Once finished, she swiftly ended the kivvil's torment.
With the sacrifice complete, Nhileari proceeded to end the ceremony with the blooding of all those present. For the Ilythiiri present, a smear of blood across the brow and a blessing, for the rothe and lesser races, a command to drink a portion of the gathered blood, and consider the cost of angering their masters.
With the ceremony over, Nhileari and Jhael thus carried the corpse through the beholder caves and to the exit of the Old Tybold Mine. Once there Nhileari tasked Jhael with displaying the body somewhere close to Shadowdale, with a note warning the other surfacers to stay away from Ilythiiri settlements, or meet the same fate. A task which the ever resourceful scout achieved wonderfully.
