Half Drow Lore, Laws and Questions Empty
PostSubject: Half Drow Lore, Laws and Questions   Half Drow Lore, Laws and Questions EmptyFri Jan 24, 2014 10:38 am

I was under the impression that Half Drow can be free people from the start, or slaves if the player rolls a slave toon, but if rolled as a free citizen, they can not be forced into slaverly unless they brake a law or something?

can I get offical ruling on this please?

i'm kind of against this thing where anyone who isnt a drow is automatically regarded as a slave or that humans are not present in Drow cities

the only law tho is the Way of Lolth? i'm not actually sure how other 'laws' work?

i dont think there are any 'laws' that are uniform across all Drow 'society'. Different cities work in different ways?

i think the Outpost could work differently to a big city. I have tended to presume that only people are allowed in who have a 'pass'. If someone without a 'pass' be they human or half blood turns up at the gates they would be arrested and possibly sold into slavery.

I would be inclined to say that if someone make a half drow and does a bio that says that have an Oupost pass and works for a Outpost trader for instance or similar organisation or has been granted one by the authorities then that is cool...

( i actually do have a half drow char i submitted a bio to DMs that says she has a pass )

Half Drow have no real rights(in Drow controlled areas). What does having no rights mean in the Underdark?

Well it means that if someone threatens or attacks you you have very little recourse legally to protect yourself. That is all. All the 'having a pass' stuff would be subjective. The only way you could be 'protected' is by being protected by a Drow who has political power.

No one is 'automatically' a slave. But if you allow yourself to be enslaved that is your problem; as a half drow you should be constantly on guard for trouble and abuse not behaving as if you are an accepted person.
