a dead guard

The body of a guard is found not far from the spider house. One dagger mark is found in his back. Sheriff Jacob asks if anyone know any information to please come forward.

A rumor going around is a begger, likely a Banite or Cyrcirst is responcible. The guard's name was Andy Connell, a local lad who fought with the refugee army during the Battle for Shadowdale. The Mayor sends her condolences to his family

*Taeron would check Andy's duties for the given day, his patrol routes and his patrol buddy. He would also try to see how this happen given the high alert of the troops and the orders that no man should walk alone.
He'd also try to find out whether Andy was on duty or not.

After that, he'd talk to other men about Andy. He would try to find out what he was up to recently (unless Taeron knows it). He would also try to examine the body and bring him back - if possible*

Working on Bryanna's request to tending more closely to the guard. Laura hears through her normal routes about the poor man. She makes her way to where she may be useful. Asking if there is anything she can do for the guard and their family.

After hearing this news, Kendra makes her way to where the body was found and would speak to Sheriff Jacob about taking the body to the Temple to attempt to raise him.

If this was done, she would stay with whomever took the body and make sure it is taken to the Temple.

Taeron would discover that Andy was not on patrol. It seems he infact was assigned as memeber of those who normally guard the main Government offices. Today however he was not on duty. What he was doing there is unclear. When a raise dead spell is used the young man's soul does not return. When Taeron or anyone else try to talk to Andy's comrades they are universally tight lipped. They all seem to say a variation of the same thing. "Andrew was a nice guy who got along with everyone."

Sheriff Jacob would ask that the body is moved to somewhere other then the Temple where it can be examined then handed over to his family. "If the Commander could not bring him back I don't think anyone else would be able to."

When she sees that Taeron is unable to bring Andy back, she gives a nod to him and then leaves the decision up to him to decide where to have the body examined. Knowing her skills of searching are likely useless in this situation, she goes to the offices to pen a few notes.

Sheriff Jacob and another deputy drag a begger to the Mayor's office (Old Skull Inn). He is proclaiming the 'RETURN OF THOSE LOYAL TO LORD BANE!" as they do so. After a short meeting in public at the inn where he proclaims loudly how he killed the guard the Lord Galmerie passes judgement.

With a very sad face the clearly tired Glamerie nods once and Orders the death by Hanging of the begger. Shariff Jacob drags the man off and does as he's told. As the Banite is dragged away a few tears run down Glameries face before she leaves for her room upstairs.

Sheriff Jacob makes quick work of hanging the man on a tree not far from the old Banite Temple. A quick kick of the crate and the jerk of the rope lead to a broken neck. He hangs for a few moments before being dropped to the ground. Shariff Jacob and the deputy take the man into the the inn, where a cleric will preform last rites before the body is burnt. No one is allowed to follow them.

The Sheriff and deputy both look very tired, it seems they hunted down this man without rest for the last day or so.

Kendra watches to the side as the man is hung, looking extremely exhausted herself. She watches Glamerie as the tears fall down her cheeks and looks down at the grass. She then nods to Sheriff Jacob before he leaves to take the body to the Inn, eyeing him closely. She herself looks to be in tears, but maintains her composure. She is then seen heading to answer any citizen's questions.

A beyond displeased and grim Bryanna arrives just in time to see the man drop. While she offers no tears or protest about a confessed Banite, having voiced her doubts at the persistence of beggars in the town in the past. She however quickly disappears following suit with Taeron.

In her case however a short while later documents would show up nailed to the Mayor and Sheriff's doors. The words on the documents should look familiar, the words having been signed into policy by Glamerie, Vincent, Taeron, and Arjay barely two full months ago.

Executions

1.) All executions will be done by the Deputy Mayor, the Militia Commander, or Sheriff. In cases of extreme delay the Secretary or Deputies may perform the necessary actions.

2.) All executions will be private affairs and done away from public view.

3.) All executions will be done in a manner which is dignified and formal; namely beheading or a dagger to the heart.

Dacius watches the execution from the side wearing a grim expression. Saying nothing of the matter, he returns back to his duties after everything is said and done.

Cruven watches the execution as he puffs away on a cigar, clearly he doesn't seem bothered by the execution of a Banite. Once it's over he walks off to his usual spot by the fountain.
