Mayas Battle in the Daggerhills

The following thread will be used to Forum RP the outcome of Mayas Action as she takes on the Undead Army.

The Player has been informed of the possible outcomes of her action that could include Permadeath or other limiting effects and has consented to them.

Only Maya and Hector are allowed to post in the thread as only those two are present at the time of her attack.
Please note that one battle round in D&D is only 6 seconds.

Maya arrives to the deserts of the daggerhills to collect some karan shrubs so she can work on the cure against the plague. When she sees the gathering of the dead she fully lifts up her protection magics and tells her cat familiar to bring written message to others about this. When the cat leaves, Maya attacks the undead unless they try to have conversation with her, which is most likely to end up with Maya attacking them anyway. She would start to attack lesser undead with fire that are around the castle, hoping that all of them will retreat to castle and stay behind the gates ... well one of the "Maya Ideas" and logics.

from her vantage point Maya could see a lot of Skeletons guarding the outskirts of the Castle, some of These are aflame and burning brightly. Others are armored in heavy armor and armed for battle. Yet other figures are clad in fullplate so its not possible to see if they are undead at all.
On the parapets she would spot more figures.. some of them with Robes fluttering in the wind.
Looming over the walls are some giantsized creatures, their heads reaching just over the wall.

as Maya moves swiftly down the hill, some of her wards shimmering in the sunlight, some of the undead that spotted her move immediatly to intercept.

As Maya comes into range she flings her fire and it explodes in the faces of two adancing Skeletons, blasting away serveral ribs and an arm. The Skeletons Keep on advancing towards Maya, their spears held high.

Maya would hear some shouts further back, it seems some of the undead are capable of speech.

The undead around the Castle start moving.

More and more shouts can be heard and the as the air fills with the eerie sound of a hunting horn being blown.. The sound can be heard all over the hills.

From the parapets three little flaming balls fly through the air and explode very near to Maya in a FIREBALL explosion. The three explosions however dont damage Maya at all due to her wards and merely rock her a little. The fireballs are followed by two streams of five magical missiles each, both spells are harmlessly blocked by Mayas shield spell.

The Skeletons now move faster to intercept her. Serveral others follow the first. In the back fully armored humanoids gesture towards Maya. The shouts seem to come from them.

Serveral sulpherous explosions erupt near the walls and from the smoking clouds step serveral Nightmares, their flaming hooves scorching the ground. The fully armored figures climb onto the Nightmares.

Slightly further to the back some Skeletons fire arrows at Maya, none of them hit her though

As the little pixie takes wing and flies of, the Skeletal pursuers stop as they watch her rise.

The dozen or so skeletal archers that are visible continue to fire their arrows but most of the arrows miss or bounce harmlessly of the forcefield.

to Mayas astonishment the flaming black horses that appeared in the sulpherous smoke, billow forth a cloud of noxious lookin gas and then also rise into the air, bearing their armored riders who hold wicked scythes firmly in their Hands... now three black riders are in the air

In the back among the parapets the effect of spells flash, but none seem to be aimed at Maya as no effect reaches her. The other Skeletons, flaming and non flaming remain Close to the walls and dont pursue any further.

Hector observes the battle between Maya and the undead for a few moments, watching her movements and those of the undead. As the battle takes to the air, Hector observes moving closer from his hill, waiting for when Maya pauses for any brief moment before conjuring a large hand aimed at her with the intention of slapping her to the ground.

Maya would Keep the maximum possible distance between herself and the Nightmares as she casts the spell (Range at CL30, 100ft). The Nightmares however would fly as fast as possible (double move for 180ft) and Maya would see that These flaming horses are extremely swift and fast. Ther nostrils flaring with sulpherous smoke. They would almost reach Maya coming within serveral feet of her.

As Maya unleashes her enchantment she would feel the mind of the evil creature easily slipping into her grasp.

Down below at the Castle Maya would notice that more and more figures appear in the courtyard and parapets.. she would also notice some more spells flashing down below. The giantsized creatures would fling boulders at the little pixie, some of them only missing her by serveral inches...

another masked and robed figure appeared nearby on the slopes of the next hill.

Just as she feels the triumph of dominating one of the quickly advancing Nightmares, she would feel a powerful force pushing her downwards, away from the Castle.. but down towards the earth... a very large semi translucent hand appeared and is now pushing her with enormous strenght. The hand would keep pushing her and doesnt vanish after the Initial attack.

Maya musters all her concentration skills as the Force Hand continues to push at her. Her spell completed, her form would melt into the ethereal plane vanishing from view for those on the prime, without enhanced sight. She would slip into the ground beneath her, just beyond the Hands grasp.
While this saved her from the Hands attacks, Maya also cant see her foes anymore as she is now surrounded by sand and stones.

Hector would see her vanishing her form melting away and his hand slapping the ground having lost its target.
He would also see the Nightmares and their riders vanishing as well.

The Skeletons on the ground would reach the spot where Maya landed and some of them would poke the ground with their spears or halberds.

The Undead at the Castle would continue with their battle preperations in the meantime.

As Maya vanishes under the ground, Hector takes a brief moment casting the gate spell, summoning a horned devil to his side. Then he waits, watching to see where she will come up.

Maya decides to move blindly through the ground towards the numerous undead, towards the heart of the army, so she can surprise them from beneath. Hopefully she remembered the correct direction towards them. When she thinks she moved to the correct place, while still ethereal she would exit the earth, and would look around herself to see where did she arrive.

Maya moves slowly inside the earth in the general direction of the Castle.. hoping that her assesment of the distance between her and the Castle is correct.
She knows that moving through the ethereal plane is much slower than normal movement (half movement rate), so she knows it will take some time to reach her Goal.

After passing through the earth, sand and stone for some moments, she would notice some distinct changes in her surroundings. The earth becomes much tighter packed and harder and much more stone is appearant. Moving a few more feet Maya would emerge finding herself in the Castle Courtyard surrounded Houses and between the houses dozens upon dozens of undead. Her view into the prime is very limited (60feet). But looking around she would see serveral giants wich seems to be some kind of undead Hill giant and Stone giants, some more giant undead wich look much more gaunt than the giants... mingling among them are many more Skeletons, some misshappen creatures with rotting parts, she wouldnt recognize and here and there some smaller more human sized robed figures accompanied by fully armored scythe wielding undead.

She could only see one of the parapets from in her range of sight from her positon, the other sides blocked from view from the buildings surrounding her. There she could see more robed figure Walking among the parapets their wards flashing in the sun, among more skeletal archers.

None of the Undead react to her yet.

"Hmm ... there is a real party here, and I was not even invited." Maya talks to herself while ethereal as she observes the creatures around her. "I better find best position for my present before I get out of here. My link with the Nightmare will be established again once I return to prime, and it is time for me to return there by targeting the whole prime area here." Maya begins to perform wild movement with her hands and to recite words on sylvan, which breaks her ethereal jaunt spell as she performs her custom epic magic and places her again on the prime. She still has expeditious retreat extended magic active. A circle with many symbols of positive energy is being drawn on the ground surface, while Maya Lyon is located in its center and her hair widely begins to play in air as the energy gathers. If she success in her performance, she unleashes huge amount of positive healing energy (epic mass heal) that would have reserve effect on undead creatures.

Maya starts to incant the complicated ritual that will unleash a great amount of positive energy in the area. She would feel the energy building inside her, coursing through her and filling her completely...
Her Etherealness is ended as she is about to finish the complicated ritual. She finally releases the almost unbearable amount of energy coursing through the tiny body of her pixie form. The energy Bursts out of her Body in all directions in bright flash of light.. at least two dozen undead would be caught in flood of lifegiving energy.

Most of the Skeletons caught in the burst would crumble to dust as their bodies seem to burn away in the onslaught of energy. Only two Skeletons still stand but they look badly beaten as if they would fall down any moment.
Two undead Hill Giants as well as one undead Stone Giant succumb immediatly as well, their bodies bursting in flames. One Stone Giant in the area remains standing beaten.
The armored undead falls down as well and succumbs to the lifegiving burst.
One of the gaunt giant Undead that was caught in the area, is weakened but still stands firmly on the ground.

The other Undead in the area as well as those that survived her attack now rush towards her. Intend on tearing the little pixie to shreds.

"ENOUGH OF THIS!" a loud voice echoes through the courtyard and some of the undead stop in their tracks.

High on one of the Parapets to Mayas right she would now see a humanoid figure, his fine purple robes fluttering in the wind and a bronze crown resting on his gaunt and almost skeletal head. He is surrounded by a multitude of arcane shields and wards that shimmer slightly as he waves a Hand.

"VESRYN, END THIS FARCE!" he shouts... and on the opposite side of the courtyard on the Parapet to Mayas left she would now notice a smaller humanoid than the first, garbed as well in elegant but in this case, white and silver robes, flying slightly above ground, carried by grey batlike wings. He looks distinctivly sun elven except for the slight horns that curve out of his forehead.

"My pleasure!" he responds with a wicked smile as he flies some feet in Mayas direction and starts a complicated incantation. As he finishes, Maya would feel the weave around her ripple at first and then the very threads seem to be torn apart by some very powerful disjuntion magic... Maya would not only feel all her wards being torn to shreds and vanish but also her pixie form is ended and she returns to her human form and falls some feet to the hard courtyard floor.
The flying sun elven Wizard makes a mock bow towards Maya and flashes a grin.

"AND NOW, WE MAY PLAY" booms the voice of the first Lich... as the Undead continue their advance towards the now-again human Maya lying on the Castle floor...

To Hector it would seem, that Maya has vanished he wouldnt see her for serveral moments anyway...
until he notices a bright Flash of light in the Castle courtyard and hears a booming voice that echoes over the hills.

As the flash goes off and the booming voice echos over the hills Hector turns to his devil. "Fly high, and tell me what you see." As the devil flys off, Hector move forward in the direction of the castle, weaving an arcane sign, casting invisibility over himself. He makes sure to stop far enough a way from the castle as to not draw any of the undead's attention.

Maya removes hair from her eyes to see clearly what did her spell do. She smiles proudly at the damage she has done to the undead. "Maya 22 points, Undead 0 points." But when the shouts start to ring in her ears and the evil creatures start making their way towards her, she then realizes that all her protection magic is gone. She still through she was pixie. "Well I am sorry I cannot stay here boys. But I hoped you like the present." Maya concentrates on commanding her dominated Nightmare through telepathic link, to rescue her. "Seems like I will need a ride out of this one. I am your master now. And I need a ride out of here."

Maya Looks around and sends out her telephatic command to the Nightmare but doenst feel its presence anymore, wich could only mean that its either dead or not on this plane. Some Undead reach Maya epecially those that were nearby. They swing their huge Clubs at Maya one of them hitting her at the shoulder and Maya would stagger back a few feet from the Impact. The intense pain in her shoulder would be almost too much to bear but concentrating on the task ahead she is able to shove it aside.

The giant gaunt Undead also slashes at Maya with his long arms and claws as Long as shortswords, he would hit Maya on her arm and cause some very deep gashes and ruin her dress.

The wicked flying Lich incants once again and points at Maya with crooked finger as a dark ray shoots at her and hits her squarely in the front.. Maya would feel her Lifeforce drifting away as the necromantic energy drains and leaves her weakened. (Energy Drain)

The other lich still standing on the parapet is starting to incant a very complicated spell... but Maya could already see dark energies gathering around him and could only guess what it means when he is finished.

Some shouts of triumph can be heard in the back from Undead capable of speech.
Then however Maya would notice a group of three Nightmare riders coming out of the Ethereal, slighlty to her right and she would feel the connection with her dominated Nightmare established once again.

As Maya scrambles for some cover, one Skeleton lunges at her with his halberd and manages to slash at her shouler. She also notices for the first time that she is feeling incredibly sick, she would feel the very place leeching away her lifeforce (HP) slowly but steadily... Now that she is aware of that she would also see the Undead she had badly wounded with her spell slowly recovering and their wounds closing and healing.
Maya finds cover behind a ruined wall that blocks the line of sight for the casters.. for now.

Three Nightmares with their riders come fyling around the corner their nostrils flaring again with sulpherous smokes and their unliving riders holding their Scythes high, ready to slice Maya to pieces.
The Nightmares are close to reaching Maya.

From her new position she would now see a group of eight mummies shambling towards her through an ally between the buildings. Two of them shimmering with magical wards and adorned with golden jewelery.

The devil would return and report of a battle in the Castle courtyard.
