Caravan Attacked: Crossroads and Daggerhills

Natyala, known for her steadfast determination for prompt and reliable caravan rides, has not been scared away by the undead, giving adventurers passage through dangerous lands no matter the cost. This time it has caught up with her. Natyala the Caravan Rider was attacked earlier today by an unknown assailant. Her body drained and near death, she was found and transported to the nearest healers. The wounds suggest the attacker was undead. Sources are limited, and rumors abound, the details are murky. What is known is she is alive and will be tending to her route again soon.

Many Adventurers have pledged a drive to aid their fallen comrade of transport. Gold and Medical supplies can be donated to help her recover and prevent this from happening again.

When questioned if she was going to give up her route, Natyala has replied.
"I travel, it's what I do. It doesn't matter who or what you are, you're getting to where you need to go. Nothing can stop that."

Natyala has returned! Quick on her feet, and never being anything but reliable and constant, she has returned to the field for her adventurers.

Though she is still vulnerable...now that she has proven to be invincible, will it happen again?

Hearing of the troubles that happened with the time honored transit system, Elektra kneels in the Garden of Shrines , before the RedKnight shrine, which is well placed next to the Waukeen shrine.
She communes within herself to the deities of both shrines.

Rising to her feet, she brushes the hair back from her face, nodding.
Wearing her best armor, she goes to visit Natyala.
Upon meeting her, Elektra would share the following idea.
" Most of the time , folks don't appreciate what they ... We... Have until it is lost. MiLady , the service that you provide is both a powerful service , allowing groups of folks to quickly move across the lands.. To respond to opportunity and threat , alike.... as well as being a weak link to the Dales... The loss of your service would greatly hinder us all to respond to all things.
My guild, of Misty Falls, has great concerns in times like these , that you need protection, that your service is far too valuable to be unprotected.
We can provide escort , as well as guard the safety of your stations.
I would feel wrong if I did not bring this up to you. We don't take you for granted. We see you as well wrth our time and talents.
A small agreement in trade might be fair to discuss, assuming you don't want to live in danger.".
She would smile gently , awaiting a response.

Not to far away, she sits there, watching, chuckling to herself. She would lick her lips, drool would coat her lips, glistening as she thought of her recent prey.

"Oh most cherish life-force. Blood. Such a bountiful prey you are." She would think to herself, her eyes would stare, a faded blue piercing gaze at Natayla. She would stay there until she felt the need to move or leave.

Natyala is a country-girl. Born and raised in the dales, she's become a near constant source of dedication to her work. Yet, rarely getting the attention for it. The flood of attention has her flustered, ho-huming and grunting as she wiggled in her seat. She isn't completely certain what to say.

"Thats nice of you. Giving me all that coin for my expenses was good enough, but more help?" She manages. "Could always use another hand, that's for sure. Kal's been working shifts...you know him? Nice fellow. Tiefling. Saved my nephew. Anyways" She coughed and cleared her throat, picking at a long grass to fit in her mouth. "If you want...folks can follow me along. But it's not fun work. It's just back and forth, over and over."

Natyala paused and chewed on her grass stem, looking over the horizon. Something had been watching her, something unsavory.

"Well, my lady, the question is for you alone to answer.", Elektra begins softly," Do you feel safe enough right now? I hear that you had been hurt ... And there are hordes of undead that show up here and there , attacking at will. I wonder of you can truely appreciate the value of you and your service represents to all if us.
   We won't burden you if you feel secure enough, but the offer is here for you , If you think you need it".

Natyala looked uncomfortable being called 'my lady.' She kept her eyes on the horizon. She could feel eyes on her.

"No, I don't feel completely safe...yet. I do when Kal's around, but he can't pull the shifts I can and take care of that little girl."

She looked back to Elektra. "So if your offering, I'll bite. But who are you going to send?"

She would wait until Night to seek passage. and Perhaps finish the job off completely. To Sap away Natayla's life completely, to leave her rotting along the road, then reanimate her as one of the undead, a Mockery of her former self. She would Laugh to herself, softly, her eyes never leaving her prey. Oh wondrous husk, why do you cower. Is it that you welcome a fools errand or is it just pure ignorance, that you like so many will die and be "reborn"Thinks to herself

Kalthanar would approach for just such one of his shifts, this time with Maura in tow(have that player's permission to say such). Anyone trying to spy on or stalk Natalya would need to get through a 60 listen and see invis as Kalthanar would activate a wand upon his approach.

"Afternoon Nat, brought my Tiger today. Thought we might start taking shifts. " He'd then gesture to Maura.

Elektra , seeing her respected friend Maura and her fellow Kalthanar , would step slightly back and listen to the exchange, considering what to say.
At the right moment , she would share her concerns and ideas with all who were there.
She would then continue :
"So , my lady Maura, and or Kal, how might we , of the Guild , share protection of this most important service and the brave lady who provides?'

Maura would smile kindly at Elektra then to Natyala as she approached. "I'm glad to see you're okay. Sorry I haven't responded sooner. Been spending so much time with Emily lately, news of what happened came later than I would have liked." She elbows Kalthanar lightly, still smiling at the caravan driver. "As a windwalker, it would be my honor and my pleasure to aid you now, Natyala."

When Mineva speaks, she glances at the half-elf with a bit of surprise then chuckles lightly, turning her attention back to Natyala.

Haveing gotten news of The Attack Ranya would make his way to the crossroads and speak with the group there. I suppose we can all band together and work in shifts to see she does not journey alone without someone she trusts *glances to Natalya with a grin*, The Last time Crypto and I used her services to visit Freehaven, we stood our ground and fought while Natalya got safe away with her animals and some other passengers. I've no issues with helping to watch over her travels now.

"The idea of shifts is excellent, Ranya.", The blond would respond.
We have guards at the Keep , which , without walls and archer towers , are more than we can effectively use. If undead attack us , we will need the ability to reach the dwarves halls quickly. So, it seems to me , guarding our egress is of great importance. ... Worthy of our resources. "
She looks to Ranya.
"Thoughts ?"

Natyala looked overwhelmed by the amount of support. She looked from one to the other with wide surprised eyes that quickly faded to chewing on the grass stem.

"Well so be it. Shifts would probably be your best bet. I don't take holidays, and I am always on time. You'll have to keep up with my schedule. First round starts soon." She looked between them. "Who goes first? I could use a few with me. And another to take the path and make certain no ones...uh...setting up something we rather not ride into. If you know what I mean."

"Keep in mind. You'll get tired if everyone tries to do everything at once." Natyala said with an experienced tone. "If everyone does everything at once, you'll be tuckered out after a single night."

A figure in White would wander from the distance, coming from the direction of Shadowdale
Oh my She looks startled Natyala. It seems you have a dozen supports as of late. Her hood left low, It hangs covering her eyes, she wears Shadowdale Mage Colors.

" I believe I should take the more dangerous shifts at night considering my abilities " He would state flatly , not bragging nor kidding. Spoken as if it was fact. Thumbs lightly tucked in his belt loops as he scanned the surroundings as they conversed.

"Thank The Godz ! ... For your confidence and ego...", Elektra breaks in loudly," For who, nor what , can even get close enough to you to do any harm at all, with THAT. surrounding you. ... Perhaps the largest part of you that there is ... .". She smirks.
"But, all compliments aside, overconfidence in the presence of undead is never a good thing. I have already witnessed a powerful and pure paladin fall to the cleverness of ancient undead minds... Even if you ARE better than he is, undead are unlimited disposable warriors motivated by ancient masters of experience and mind. Seriously, more than ... Hmm, even you... Can beat alone.".
Elektra smiles at him with her hands on her hips.

Maura chuckles and glances between Elektra and Kalthanar as she speaks. "Not even Kal is idiot enough to think he can take on the entire horde himself." She'd give Kalthanar a quick peck on the cheek then turn her attention back to the caravan driver. "That's where I come in. My abilities as a cleric are at your disposal, Natyala."

"Elektra... you're so... brainless...You assume way too much. I've been doing this for years... I don't need to fight the whole gods damn horde. I only need to keep Natalya safe from them which I can do. Not to mention... if they brought an entire army after just Natalya... they'd have little success. You see using too many pieces on the field to capture just one person often results in alot less success. Leave tactics to the people who a functioning thought process" He then sighs, and wraps an arm around Maura rubbing the bridge of his nose.

" She makes my head hurt Tiger... I just... can't even fathom how she functions from day to day..."

"How is it , that you , Lord Kalthanwhatever... miss the most obvious , ... And basic of strategies that even the class dunce understands...   'Immobilize your enemy before a strike !'  .... Duh! ...  We cannot allow this to happen to us !"
She takes a direct conflictive stance to Him, pointing with her finger as she speaks.
" Passages of egress are crucial to everything from planned evacuations ... To ghost tactics of a strike and run phalanx ... Geeez! "
She slaps her forehead , and takes a stronger defensive stance.
   " obviously , we need better minds than THIS , in care of our defense!".

She would watch them bicker, her eyes darting from Natyala to the bickering troupe. She would sneer from her hiding place, hidden from eyes. The Dark would be her friend, her ally, her companion. Should her allies and "benefactors" come to this a fools gathering. Perhaps she would wait until they had moved, or fought, it mattered not how long she must wait, she would claim her prize.

"Elektra..." Maura would sigh in exasperation as the Headmistress of Misty Falls finished her tirade, rubbing her forehead before looking Elektra in the eyes. Please, just stop. I know you care about the well-being of the people in the Dales as much as the rest of us. We've known each other a long time. I've stood by you even when you were still pacted because I believed in your effort to break free of it. I've defended you many times when others spoke poorly of you. I have been a friend to you when many others called you enemy." The red head would smile kindly to the blonde. "So, please, give Kalthanar some more respect. You don't have to like him, but he does deserve more respect than he's often given."

A particularly attractive human looking woman wearing a black robe and hood walks past the group, smerking to herself as she hears the bickering. Approaching them she offers a nod before asking. "Who do I need to speak to about the attacks on Shadowdale, any of you happen to know? yYou can call me Hope."
