Amidsts the Misty Falls...

Elektra looks down from her perch on the roof, quietly watching the moments this figure is visible. After a time, she descends to the grounds, and watches him from a distance. Having personally experienced the fallen spirits of the area, she eventually approaches him.

"Hello, good sir. I am Elektra, Headmistress of the House here. I have noticed you spending time around our grave sites, and the lands. I can tell you that there is a very long history here, way beyond our knowledge, but , even so, I have personally learned. .. ..from a few of those spirits themselves, a bit of the history.
Even when we dug the foundation of our Keep, we came across deep long ago buried bones.
Is there anything that I may help you with?"

*Crypto comes out onto the roof and takes a spot next to his wife, putting an arm around her side and kissing her cheek then looks down and smiles pleasantly to the elf and addresses him in pristine elvish*

Greetings elf friend and welcome to Misty Falls. I hear you inquire with my wife about the spirits that roam the land along the beloved stretch of river here. As a long time student of Kelemvor in my younger years, I know of at least a 100 ways a spirit might become restless. Many different restless dead come and go in these lands. Some are attached to the land... these would be the ghosts of family members... men, wives and their children who must have befell some terrible death or were taken from this world with some dire need yet unfulfilled. For all intents and purposes, these family spirits seem to be benign. Of course we would like to see their spirits put to rest... thus is why we go to great lengths to give them proper and respectful burials.

However, another restless force has attached itself to these lands. There are many accounts that a cave just to our west has harbored some undead cult. I have witnessed some of their activity over a year past, but not much since... but the rumors still abound. These undead forces are not at all benign and are of a much greater cause for alarm to us. In fact one of the reasons we are building our fortress here is to keep this sort of nastiness at bay. For we who have the power to stop such forces give greater peace to the peoples of neighboring lands who cannot.

Of greatest concern recently is the Dracolich and it's foul minions. They have attacked us... wounded our members, blown holes in our walls, and befouled the very land at the edge of the Cormanth, a 20 minute walk west on the road. If quelling the restless dead is such a concern of yours and you wish to help... we welcome it, and I suggest you help in this Dracolich issue first as it should be of great alarm to all the peoples of the land.

Our high druidess, Ravossel, of whom you may have heard... is leading efforts to rid the land of this hostile undead plague and we of the House are fully behind her. Come inside and have breakfast... some lovely herbed fish broth, elven bread and fresh fruit. We can talk more, you can tell us what you need... and Ravossel should be coming through at any hour.

*he looks to his wife and relays in common a short jist of what he said to the elf and then comments*

*Crypto shakes his head and continues speaking in common*

I believe the family spirits here had naught to do with the evil forces of undead that more recently have been causing trouble. Of course I could be for lack of information. The ghosts here are not terribly forthcoming about why they are here and what they want. That said, with such an evil presence pressing upon this land. I worry for the souls of the innocents. Won't you come inside and share a meal with us and continue this discussion? If you prefer to be outside, we can certainly bring breakfast out to the veranda or the lovely resting island just out front.

He offers them a smile and shakes his head "An appreciated offer, but I rather continue to work on my community with these spirits. They do not belong here and I seek to learn how to help them go to where they may be at peace" He pauses before he continues. "I take it you do not mind I look into this?"

I take it the elf is here for his own purposes and not to help us in any way. You are the Judicator of these lands, it is your call. However, If he is going to be poking around our grounds, I want him watched and he is to not over turn a single stone unless one of our members are present. He might f#$k up my tulip bulbs, and we can't have that now can we?

*he smiles and speaks loud enough for him to hear from down on the veranda*

I don't mind so long as he leaves the place just as he found it. What say you m'love?

*Roman steps out onto the Veranda from around where the outside Sune fountain is on the side of the keep and looks the elf over then looks up to the roof.  He speaks dry with little emotion, save for being sure of himself.*

Turns to the duo. "I do not plan to take anything that is within these parts, however if I can, I will put those spirits to rest. They do not belong in this plane" With that, he turns towards Roman; growing quiet for the time being.

Elektra (( actually we should be down on the grounds with the elf ) then speaks to the elf in a gentle tone.
" We want all the spirits here to be set to rest and not become enslaved by wickedness. I know little of such things but I can tell you that this cross road here was been lived on since ancient times. Orcs came by claiming it was their burial site of ancestors , human spirits have appeared , bones of what may have been halflings were uncovered , and who knows what else we have not seen .
My worry, honestly, is that your intervention here in such a complicated balance could tip some very dangerous scales... Moving and disturbing spirits when powers of undead roam freely across the Dales...
Before I can approve your efforts, I need to hear your credentials , and your intent , and based on what I hear, I may seek advice from a shaman as to the likely affects. "
She stands her ground yet in a non threatening way, waiting for his response.

Tilts his head to the side. "I do not need to give you anything, nor do you own these lands or the spirits here.
In the end I walk with the land and if there is anything disturbed, I attempt to resolve it. You are saying it yourself in different words. You and I walk a different road, although the destination is the same. We both seem to wish to help these restless. Fear not that I will preserve the balance" He pauses before he resumes.
"I recognize and know of the tear in this land, the undead that grow everyday in strength, led by a being of power. If there is anyone here that is currently suffering in flesh and bone what is happening here, it is me, I assure you"

Good morning every one. *yawns a bit.* so what's this gathering all about? *Ravossel looks at every one that there.*

((( we are outside on the grounds )))
  "Rav, it is good to see you. " , Elektra says as the Druid approaches.
We are discussing the undead as well as the spirits , many of which , are in our lands here. ", she then looks back and makes this comment ,"... And yes , no one needs to tell me that no one owns the land!  However it would not surprise me if you say that to us again at least 10 times before we finish speaking. But here's what I think perhaps you do not grasp, I am responsible for what happens here.
   Yes I already know that after I am long dead , the land will still be here ... yes thank you. The last thing I will allow is that while we live in this location to have un dead springing forth underneath our feet because people meddled in affairs,  that perhaps they did not understand.
    Let me make it clear to you that no one owns the land.
Let me say again that I am responsible for what happens while we live at this location. If what you do causes disturbances that allows further undead to spring forth here ... do you think people will hold the land responsible for it??? ... No , they will come from MY head!
     The fact that no one owns the land and never will , does not change the fact that I like my head on my shoulders and I would prefer to keep it there.  Now I am not even going to get into a debate with you as to whether or not I own my own head.
      Complain to me if you will for being cautious in such a dangerous situation... But I think you know that I'm going to be cautious in such a dangerous situation... Since it is my people who are located here at this time who are in danger from your actions we have the clear right to demand of you an explanation of your intentions. If anything you must learn you are not the only person at risk in this world."

Watches the woman as she speaks, remaining completely calm. "Unexpected wisdom, I am impressed to a degree." He confesses. "However... demand as you will you shall not have it all, for I did not come here for you, or your House here" The elven male explains. "I came here because the land weeps, beneath my feet, in the air, down to every rock or blade of grass in this place" He pauses once again before he adds. "And that is my purpose, to find out why these restless are here and to do what I can to see them transcend."
He pauses once more before he speaks up again.
"I give you my word that whatever I do here will not harm your home here, for that I am an elf, and do not act on a whim. I happen to have nearly a third of a millennia to live still" The elven male quiets once more.

After listening , respectfully to his response, she adds her own :

"Unexpected wisdom rarely caused pain and suffering. . its the unexpected stupidity that does.
can you at least try to explain what you intend to do. .or must we watch ,wait and wonder what it brings forth? "

Tilts his head to the side, choosing to  disregard whatever insults there might have been implied in her statement.
"First I will commune with them as I have been attempting to do before your arrival. Then I will communicate. I will ask why they are here and why they linger. Then I will act upon what I hear. If it involves any other apples, I shall bring them into the apple tree. " Pauses before he resumes. "In other words, if you were to be part of the reason why they linger, I shall communicate it to you"

*Ravossel waits till after every one is talking be for putting in her own words, with a heavy sigh.*

The trees, the wind, my eyes, nose and ears, tell me there are not dead walkers here at misty falls. The closest place are the dead walkers at Krag's base. The only thing that lingers are some sprites of children that have yet to pass over.

*Ravossel looks over at the other elf bit coldly*

The land of misty falls is fine and healthy, the lands about the beast man tower have been cleaned of the taint, and healed. The ruined forest of shadowdale wood, is now free of the taint, and healing as well. The only place that's close by that's hurting, is were the walking dead walk at krag's base. The big places that need help are the old ruins of Myth, the dagger lands and free haven, the crypts of shadowdale, and the dead zones that are half days walk from Myth. As for krag's base it'll be heald, and free of the walking dead very soon. (( unless I missed some thing va DM event or some thing.))

As to why the walking dead keep attacking here. *Ravossel pulls put a very old bone, carved with very old dark ruins of times along past.* This evil relic may show use some things that we have yet to see. This dark relic was recovered from one of the walking dead attacks.

*When examined This Old Bone is very very evil. There après to be a tear two enchantment, seems like when one is struck by it. The life force is pulled out of the one being struck and goes into the user of this bone (+2 Vamoiric regen). By the looks of it merely a touch of it can kill any one, that's not warded. (( slay living lvl 9, one use a day ))

Turns to the elf. "You seem to believe I am speaking of undead right in these parts, or of anything right here." Despite the elf's coldness, the elven male shows complete neutrality. He does not seem to show any feelings, or to be offended in any form or manner by the constant hits at his intelligence and wisdom.
Either way, he tilts his head to the side as he examines the item from afar. After a moment, he nods his head. "Good to know, I will be sure to touch the topic with them as well"

You did say "I came here because the land " *Ravossel trails off a bit there at the end.* Can be both very vague, and very specific. In this case, and you all ready showing a large amount of interest here, strongly hinted to being very specific.

*Longer she is there Ravossel seems to loosen up, and be come less cold/critical of the man. For what ever the resin, Ravossel just seems like, she Duse not like the other elf.*

Patiently waits for her to finish. "I hold no particular interest to this area than any other area that might also present similar issues. When I walk the land and I feel something that does not belong to this plane, I attempt to restore the balance."

*Ravossel's aye brow twitches at him stating he only wishes to keep the balance.*

If it's keeping the balance you seek. Then you should be heading back to the city of song, were the walking dead prowl the old ruins of myth, there's the dead zones that are half days walk from The city of song, there another group walking dead legions, there the forest of the dead! Not the bail, but another forest that's been tainted by the walking dead. Take your pick of any of them.

The forests, animals, and the land are slowly staring to be heal and recover from a deviating blights, taints, and walking dead. With only one last bastion that remains, and it to will be removed. The last thing we need is some one els poking around, and raising more problems in a land that's recovering from a War of a mixed Allince of Drow, orcs, beatman, and trolls. And now the walking dead attack thees lands. We take care our own, our friends, family, loved ones, the land, and to Nature.


*For what ever resion Ravossel's feathers are fluff up big time now, and about as mad as a wet hin.*

Elektra interjects,
" there is a cave just on the eastern border by the road. the cave clearly has spewed abyssal entities more than once. If there is any clear thing not of this plane, that should be drawing your attention like a roaring flood."
She shifts her balance a bit. " what ever is here , was here long before this guild was formed and the Keep built. I doubt seriously that we can be a cause of anything you seek."

Shakes his head. "I am here right now. You believe that caring to attempt to deal with these enslaved spirits pales to what is happening with that dracolich, and that is where we differ. I shall not abandon any soul in need" He turns to Elektra. "I already told you what I plan to do. I shall not repeat myself"

*Elektra looks at him a moment*
" in all the many years you must have lived, perhaps a bit of loosening up might have happened. .yet. ya seem quite tightly wound. I can overlook this.
Now . . . Here is what i can leave you with, and i hope you succede well in your efforts. Here in Misty Falls, we live by ideals and laws that may seem strange to you, so i shall share the core and heart of it, so that you will know.

... Folks are held accountable for their actions...

This means as long as you succede in your efforts and end up in a good result, you will be praised for all you bring. And just as much, if you bring misery and suffering , expanding evil, cause a worsening of the undead issue. . .you . . will. . ..be. . personally. .. held accountable.
This is not up for debate, nor vote. it is the law here. . . .I dont care what your laws are in where ever land. . . if you are that confident in what you do, then you will not have to deal with our law. Just be sure. Am i clear to you on this?"
She looks at him eye to eye for an answer.
