The Capture of Jack Maybe

the old man nods with a slight crooked grin i know keeper old habits and old you know how it is..

with that the old man would hobble in and go see jack in prison..

he would spend minutes once there just staring at him all hunched over face more than half concealed by the rim of the hood..

he would speak after some thought in a crackling aging voice..

i see they finaly brought the trash in.. he would stare at the prisoner from under his hood..

In Myth Drannor again after several days of rest and a few more days of labor, a frail, pale Cleo finally hears the news of Jack Maybe's capture.

He approaches the barracks, his old Councilor insignia proudly shown, and prepares to enter.

But then he stops and wonders aloud, "Do I really have anything left to say to him? The difference between us is a matter of mere seconds, long ago. But he knows that already. Sad, though. So sad."

With that, Cleo mutters a short prayer of blessing, then turns and walks away.
