A God Once Sang
*as sung by Sheighley Flynn*
People do call you tears weeping from the sky
But it's not fair to think the heavens just up and cry
A god once sang that you're a sign of love falling
I agree and know that you presage Firehair come a-calling
But even more you save us, controlling deadly fire
The worst will not come to pass, even seeming the most dire
And further, could you aid us, and bring to a halt
The damage to our lands, caused by horrid poisoned salt
You're too persistent, too uncommon, to think "it's just the weather"
I know it's little, your individual weight is really like a feather
But who does send you? Who can think so very far ahead?
Who can give such lively succor? Or else we'd flee in dread?
The mysteries baffle me, I can't fathom who does call you down
I must admit, I'm more inclined, to go out and shed my gown
And dance in revel, wild and free, letting you run upon my skin
And know that finally, you shall end and leave me with a grin!
