You have all expressed, in one way or another, an interest in a common banner to unite those of the arcane inclination or scholarly pursuit beneath. I have put a bit of thought into this, and propose we hold a meeting to share our knowledge, ambition and thoughts. Attached to this letter is a short write-up of my own ideas, so that you can make up your own mind. Be aware that these are mere suggestions; nothing is yet set in stone. The meeting will be held the following week, and in Old Skull Inn. Please share the word, that more might join if they desire so. Hopefully there will be enough room.

The Circula Arcana

Purpose:
To unite those who treasure knowledge, magic and history. To allow for knowledge to be shared amongst mages, and to succuesfully provide education by more experienced mages, to those desiring it. To pool together resources that effort to gain knowledge and magic is optimized.

Organization:
The Circula Arcana will consist of three circles, each composed of mages with differing mindsets. Each circle will have a leader, carrying two duties: Oversee the daily workings of the Circles, and sit on the Council, which is the governing body of the Circula Arcana. There is no formal leader; all greater decisions will be taken through the council. Magical power is not a factor for being on the council since most situations will most likely be legal, political or commercial, but few should mistake a Circle Leader for being new to magic.

Below the Circle leaders, there will be full members; mages who have proved their intellect and loyalty to the ideals of the Circle. These Circle Mages are responsible for taking on apprenctices and conduct day to day research, training and enchanting.

Apprentices are mages that are new to the Circle and have thus entered an apprenticehood with a full Circle Mage.

Individuals with an interest in the scholarly pursuits, but without magical talents or ability will have a place in the Circula Arcana, naturally, as all are welcomed among like-minded souls. They can not though, obviously, begin a proper apprenticehood and will be welcomed at the same rank as full Circle Mages after a period of time, judged on a case by case basis.

The Three Circles:

The Circle of Insight:

Titles: Circle Scholar, Scholar.
The Circle of Insight is responsible for researching the deeper, fundamental workings of magic. Most members will be wizards with a keen mind and a desire to dive into a more theoretical field, often conducting experiments with a scientific method to develop, enhance and understand magic. Often members will be specialists, being among the few willing to sacrifice certain schools to gain a superior understanding of a single school. Circle Scholars are also responsible for holding lectures within the fields of theoretical magic.

The Circle of Commerce:

Titles: Circle Shaper, Shaper.
The Circle of Commerce is responsible for the creation and development of magical items, trinkets and other commodities. All members will have a keen understanding of item creation, and all will share a common pricing method in an effort to maintain steady, reasonably priced services to the public. Circle Shapers are responsible for holding lectures within the fields of practical magic.

The Circle of Arnament:

Titles: Circle Warrior, Warrior.
The Circle of Arnament represents a fusion of two ways: the way of magic and the way of the sword. Consisting of extremely disciplined individuals who walk a rare path, they are responsible for the safeguarding of other Circle Mages during perilious digs and expeditions. Masters of warding magic, Warriors often approach magic defensively, rarely leaving time to properly focus offensive magic, instead resorting to protective wards. Circle Warriors are responsible for holding lectures within the fields of combat magic and warding.

Restrictions:
Due to the Circula Arcana being a commercial organization, prospects are expected to not hold membership in organizations with political or commercial goals. All members are expected to follow local law where applicable.

Legal:
Due to the tentative placement of the Circula Arcana, a request will be sent to the Church of Bane for a complete transcript of Zhentarim Law, that all members should have the opportunity to study and follow law on the same terms as the Zhentarim itself.

OOC: Time of the meeting will be Wednesday the 7th, 2200 GMT. This time may not be optimal, but I'm aiming for a time that's after the US people get off school/work and the euros still won't have gone to bed. Sophia will be spreading the word around so even though your character is not on this list, feel free to 'have heard' the rumour and attend anyway.

My research into the creating of essence may keep me from this meeting, you know how it is when conducting experiments; but I shall attempt to attend as best I can.

Should I be unable to attend I would register my interest and specialties. For the record, I am most interested in participating int he Circle of Commerce, though I am also a specialist Illusionist as you know.

Liv, upon receiving the letter, reads it and tucks it into her diary to remind herself later, hoping she won't forget about it...

OOC -- I will try to make it, but I get out of classes about two hours before and have to get an oil change in my car. If you could delay for about 30 minutes, I will definitely be able to arrive.

OOC -- I think the time should stay as it is, for me the meeting will be around midnight, so i would appreciate it if it didnt get pressed backwards..
