Public Hanging Empty
PostSubject: Public Hanging   Public Hanging EmptyThu Sep 22, 2011 11:59 pm

Those in the town are gathered up during the late night. All to witness the death of the known criminal, and rebel, Vosh Lordworth.

The man is dragged up the gallows steps by the deep dwarf, and the Justifier begins the execution, condeming the man before the masses.

At the bottom of the gallows Turk stands watch, his torch light creating eerie shadows about him. He paitently waits for the Justifier to finish speaking, waiting for that sound after the hatch is opened. The sound of a broken neck. Unfortunately it never came, though he smirks as he looks back to see the man struggling, and fighting for his already lost life.

The kicking stops, and so he has passed. The body is cut down, and perhaps cleaned up by others.

The Dread Knight is joined by a new soldier, dressed in leathers with a staff. This new soldier stands just behind Justins left shoulder as the Dread Knight speaks.

"This man was hanged for treason.

The rebels, they call us evil. Since the Rebels have declared rebellion, they've only proven themselves to be the evil ones. Self-appointed defenders of Justice?! What right do they have to tell us how to live!? What authority do they have over our very lives? We are a Bane fearing people, and we will command our lands as only Bane sees fit.

We are Banes chosen army, nurtured by the blood of profligates and tempered in the fires of battle, while the rebels grow weak and pitiful. They are afraid of us, and their fear causes them to rebel. They rebel against their rightful ruler under the auspices of freedom and Liberty, then they burn our crops, waylay our soldiers and reroute Titans to our home, all in the name of their "Freedom", and THEY DARE LECTURE US ON MORALITY!?.

They will be held accountable for their crimes. And this is only the start. I swear it upon the whip of Loviatar."

He turns around and nods to the man behind him. They then clear the dead body from public view.

A woman dressed in a pink dress gently wraps the body in white bandages. After a short prayer, she carries the body to the House of Plenty for last rites and preparation for burial.

After what seems an eternity with a single thought. About the promise that was upheld to the end. Light shines into the deep void of the soul's eyes. Pain tears through the limbs as the spirit takes control of the lifeless corpse. The promise all but a forgotten now. The childish dream of forgiveness burned away in the raging desire for revenge. Once again, The Viper walks. Clawing about at the bandages around his flesh. Sweet hatred pouring out of his gasping lungs as he mutters the only name he can focus on. "Turk..."
