Disaster at the Dancing Moon - Page 2 Empty
PostSubject: Re: Disaster at the Dancing Moon   Disaster at the Dancing Moon - Page 2 EmptyWed Oct 09, 2013 10:28 pm

After a hearty breakfest of scrambled eggs, pan cakes, hash browns, pork chops, and the Clan's own chocolate stout (CHECK IT OUT!!) Valtore visits Thane Targlan and wishes him well. He then informs him that Valtore will be returning to Myth Drannor.

Valtore catches the boat to Myth Drannor and reviews his notes on the Weeping Wars. Taking special interstate on anything talking of where greater demons we destroyed. On the second day of his two day boat ride he remembers about the messanger from the Dancing Moon. He will have to send a note to the Thane about some sort of tunnel collapse when he gets home. He returns to his work, no doubt "forgetting" once more about the Bar in the middle of no where.

((Oocly this RP post was made to inform the dwarf players that Valtore did not pass along word of the accident. That way they can post discovering the news through other means. It is intact relevant to the thread.))

PostSubject: Re: Disaster at the Dancing Moon   Disaster at the Dancing Moon - Page 2 EmptyThu Oct 10, 2013 2:15 am

Those who have been working around the clock to try to free those trapped begin to reach some of the unfortunate souls who had been buried.  The first body they find is that of a halfling, smashed to unrecognizability.  The only identifying things upon it, is a tuft of red hair and a backpack of traps.  The twisted figure seemed to have been garbed in leather, once, before all the rocks tore it to shreds.

Digging further, a few more twisted figures are found, all wearing the cloak of the Dancing Moon.  Among those found would be the slender form of an elf with golden hair. Upon her face is a mask, cracked in places, cutting into her face in others, making identifying her difficult at best. Still no sign of Cadence, Tonan, or Arjay.

Mark grunts as they find the bodies, a silent curse comes out from his lips, he didn't like the hin but the elf with golden hair is another matter, he works even harder cursing the Gods for what has happened here.
Each minute his heart beats more quickly as he pushes himself to the limits and can't stop himself from muttering a Mantra "Keep digging, she might not be her, she can still be saved, there are others to save and you are not so stupid to piss off the Clerics that can help her..."
Still, when his body gives up he breathes heavily remembering the bodies "Cleo... Gods be damned, I need you here."

As they begin reaching the unfortunate souls, Vincent gets a second wind, working hard and more diligent then ever to remove them from the collapse. Each body they find, he'd try to have people move them to safe location and yelling out to Mara.

"Mara! We've found bodies!"

With a small grumble and prayer to Helm, he continues digging in hopes to find those who remain in the depths of the collapse.

Mara comes running over after talking to Zidanja a bit. With her Holy Symbol in hand.  She looks to the bodies to see if they can be brought back or if she needs to preform last rites on them.  She prays over them hoping that her goddess will bring them back from where they are.

My Lady, please allow these souls to come back to the living.  If it is their time to stay in the after life so be it and I will let their souls rest.

She lays her hands on them praying to bring them back.

May your soul return to your body and be whole again.  By the good graces of the Red Knight come back to your body.

She lays her Holy Symbol on the bodies exhausting every bit of energy she has to bring them back.  Those that can't be brought back she preforms last rites on and says a small pray for them and their families.

As bodys are found and horrific scene is displayed Celovar does not even blink. He continues doing what he was in order to get more bodys out, be it move rocks or breaking them down with pickaxes. He is still very quiet and does not speak to many.

The Gorgeous Golden Haired Elf continues to lay limply that black mask she wore to match the black edging on her pink dress cracked into her face, but by the form of the body it was unmistakable that it was the former whore, who was turning her life around being hunted and hounded by predators of the dark, Sadly she didn't answer the call of Mara to bring her back to life, she just lay limp. Gone.

Mark continues digging while watching the proccess and when it fails he stops for a moment, watching the body, he doesn't react for a while until he focuses once again at the body and mutters what seems to be a goodbye
"Why didn't you come back, fool? There are people here that need you... I'll take care of them, I promise. You were a fool, yet you were improving and that made your worthy, I know the last time we spoke I hurted you and I wouldn't change my actions regardless of this outcome but... If you are listening and it's worth something, I am sorry it ended up like this. Have fun wherever you are, and don't worry, those vampires are going to suffer and wish they were dead for sure."
When he's done, he continues digging, he has little hope of finding survivors but you can never know if you don't try he tells himself.

Mara works on Goldie but realizes the soul isn't coming back, so she offers last rites to her.

I wish you well in the next life Goldie. May you find what you seek my child. May you god take your soul into their arms and hold you tight.

She places her holy symbol on her forehead and offers a silent prayer.

She then moves onto the other bodies. I wish I could give a longer last rites but there is too many souls at stake. We have to get these people out if I am to have any chance of saving any of them.

Hork sees the results of the important lady's aid and roars with rage. "Must find Cadence!" He renews his effort to uncover more debris.

Amaelfa moves through the workers to Mara's side, ignoring Mark's very existence.  Her face is a mask of stone as she lays a hand on Mara's shoulder.  Her voice, when she speaks, is rigidly controlled, cold as the glaciers of her home

"She has never had a home, so I shall return her to mine.  I will not see her buried in the Dales."  A muscle works in her jaw, her eyes chips of ice.  "The journey will be a long one... I would ask a boon of you, my lady.  Preserve her body, so that I may see it properly honored in my homeland."

She pulls out a pouch, pouring from it a handful of glittering gems.  These she hands to Mara.  "For your use in aid of any other injured folk, to buy whatever they need.  As for the rest, have a drink in remembrance of the dead."

Taking a knee, she picks up the body of the elven girl with uncharacteristic gentleness.  Turning, she speaks once more, quietly.  "I'll await your first opportunity, Lady Mara, but I'd ask that you not wait too long.  Please.  I ride as soon as possible."

Without another word, and no looking back, the Northman woman carries the girl away, her Choice made.

Disaster at the Dancing Moon - Page 2 Empty
PostSubject: Re: Disaster at the Dancing Moon   Disaster at the Dancing Moon - Page 2 EmptyThu Oct 10, 2013 10:20 pm

It would seem that most of the group were close together when the collapse happened, as more bodies are quickly found. The rescuers finally come upon a gap, where the rocks created a small cavern in which a few survivors are found.

Among those who were found inside this small sanctuary are Tonan and Cadence, though Cadence looks worse for ware. Blood has crusted along the side of her head, her hair matted and pasted to her face. Dirt is caked along her form showing that she might have dug herself or been dug out of some debris into this tiny space. Tonan holds Cadence in his lap, his head bowed over her, part to protect her, part because he had fallen asleep or passed out while waiting.

Hearing the diggers break through the rocks, Tonan takes a long, shuddering breath of fresh air and gets to his feet. Carrying Cadence, he takes her to Mara. "I tried what I could, but she's never regained consciousness. I hope you can do more." At this point, the man would take Cadence to wherever Mara indicates, staying with her.

As Vincent notices Amaelfa he'd bow his head in respect and if possible places a hand on her shoulder comfortingly. He speaks softly to her if she hears him or not.

"If you need anything, I'm here Amaelfa"

Once survivors are discovered Vincent sighs with relief helping those he can by either helping a hand to bring them to aid, carrying them or simply giving some water. Though the moment Cadence and Tonan are discovered he quickly makes his way to them, his emotions overwhelming as he approaches. He follows them for a time, offering his aid to the couple.

"Cadence?...Tonan? If there is anything I might be able to do, please, let me know."

Arjay seems rather the worse for wear, his generally frail constitution not having suited him well for this long confinement. He looked like he'd been trying to do something to dig them out, but... well, Arjay wasn't exactly one suited for physical labor these days, and he'd ended up slumped next to Tonan.

When all the people have been rescued (Even helping Arjay) Mark just stands near them in case they need something, while nobody does that he stares at Cadence with a ligh frown, he seems worried but his not the best at talking with people around so he waits until things calm down a bit.

Mara goes to Cadence.

Put her down.. She puts her holy symbol against her chest and starts to pray. My Lady bring this gentle soul back to us and have her pain be as little as possible.

She blesses her with regeneration and moves on to Arjay.   Where are you hurt Arjay? she starts bandaging him and then goes back to Cadence and Tonan.   You Tonan do you need healing as well? Looks him over.

As the people once captured in the cave, both dead and alive, are brought back into the safe halls of the Dancing Moon, Amar murmurs a little prayer for the dead and slips through t' masses and walks for the exit, slipping, hopefully unnoticed, outside and into the woods with a low grumble.

After seeing to the wounded Mara would go to Amaelfa to see about Goldie.

I'll do what I can to preserve the body. I'm sorry I couldn't bring her back. But she has had last rites and she isn't in pain. I know its not a comfort to hear the words. Should you need anything before you leave let me know

She goes about the process of preserving the body with a combination of blessings and oils and herbs and salts.

"Nothing else, priestess. Tempus thanks you." Amaelfa gives Mara a brittle smile as she slings the baldric of her greatsword over her shoulder, and checks her armor's buckles. Writing a quick note, she hands it to one of the security guards, and leaves the theater with the elven girl's body. Shortly afterwards, she leaves for Shadowdale where she purchases a wagon and a team of horses with spares. Stocking the wagon with supplies and depositing the girl's corpse in the back, sealed in a pine box, she sets out for the West.

Meanwhile, back at the theater, Tonan assures Mara he has no need of healing, and stays by Cadence's side.

As Amaelfa sets off to the west, a silver streak can be seen shooting across the sky. Further down the road, her empty wagon can be found; the horses now grazing happily around it, though, there is one horse missing.
