Around the town center fire

"Elektra Mystria, Headmistress of the cursed House of Redemption!", the woman exclaims openly to all.
 "How many of you ached to see her demise? How many of you cursed this name in days gone by? She now sits in luxury from all the work and sacrifice that we gave, believing in her promise. IF she had been honorable, feeling the need to no longer be a part of the clan that she founded and grew like family, SHE could have left ! She could have departed, leaving what we had built for us. But, you see, now she has barred US,and taken like a thief all that we gave, betrayed our trust, broke her oath. In my society, each clan member has the right to respond to a crime of a member, and I will bring her down. If there is none who would take the bounty, then I shall move on, to find those worthy."

*Airan'ae taks a scroll to the bulletin board when he hears the chatter from the fire... he decides to rest against the fountain for a moment.*

The tall woman was surprisingly still there, having taken more interest in the concept of coin over idle ramblings. After a few minutes she lazily chimed in. "If you're looking for a bounty hunter, honor is not likely to follow. You'd be paying for a dirty deed, little girl... and there are hardly any justly beings that hunt down or kill people for coin. So you can moan and complain about this person and try to convince us how 'horrible' she was to you, but I highly doubt that will matter if you want the demise to actually come. Problems are better solved with action."

Laura began to smile to the huntsman's words, but the smile was cut short and fell off her face completely. Her fingers gripped her robes and her eyes widened as she recognized the bounty's name. She scanned the fire with a worried countenance. She wanted to trust her peers wouldn't do something bloodthirsty, but there was a nagging doubt that wormed through her mind.

At Ava's exclamation, Maura pushes off the fountain and steps a bit closer to the fire. "Maybe you should tell them everything, Ava," she says after Lur finishes speaking, her emerald eyes glinting like jewels as the light of the flames catches them. "I'm sure all these folk would like to know why you and select others have suddenly been barred from the previously-named House of Redemption."

At the sudden flurry of activity, Dannyl draws back from the fire again, letting shadow shroud his features. He still watches, though, eyes keen as ever.

The blue eyes of Ava glare at Maura a moment before speaking. Then a short glance to Lur, before addressing openly.
"I have spoken clearly enough. " , then to Maura directlyl. "Are you actually defending the actions of this breaker of oath?"

...unseen eyebrows raise at Lur's words and he spits quietly to his side placing the rich wine bottle between his legs. Sighing once again he finally lowers his thick hood, and perhaps surprisingly very thoughtful and kind eyes are revealed. He stares at Lur a moment before speaking, waiting for a break in the chatter so as to not interupt anyone...his voice is friendly and always respectful...

"Madame. I am a bounty hunter. And I specialize in undeath, Orc, and perhaps not surprisingly: Human."

...lifting the wine smoothly he takes a quick sip, but then takes a few seconds, to savour the rich fluid, eyes closed as if caught in a distant memory... and then continues...

"...you may, or may not know, it is by and large these ....types? or prey... that are most in need to pay their own dues. You obviously do not think it, but I am also honorable and just. I do not kill for pleasure, and never bring them back dead no matter how much more my 'client' offers. ...he shrugs a moment in thought with a short pause....

"...many people need many other people for many reasons. I am their liase to ...he smiles thoughtfully looking down a moment... ....buisness... becoming... shall I say? ...complete? Between two parties I normally, and purposely, have no knowledge of. When one party owes, and does not pay, I help those get their justly due. It is my ...job. And I do it well. For the right cost. But do not judge every man who takes a bounty, for the skills he may have to use to ...make a living?"

...he smiles and nods to her...

"It was all I have ever known."

While the huntsman speak, Maura's gaze examines the crowd. The moment he utters that last word, her eyes dart back to Ava and she answers the question asked of her whether or not it was meant to be answered.

"I am defending the actions of one who has been to the Hels and back to break away from a path of darkness and walk on a path of light." Her voice raises above a conversational volume as the passion of her argument climbs. "I am defending a woman who has shunned the dark influences from her life. Influences like you!" Maura points accusingly at Ava. Her impassioned speech has consumed her attention and her focus is solely on the blue-eyed woman.

"Be warned, Ava: I will die before I let a murderous servant of Tiamat such as you harm her."

"Thou seek nay justice nor the restoration of hope nary. mine blade will not aid thee."

Elric shakes his head in disgust at the mention of tiamat and  and walks over to the nearest guard to point out a potential worshipper of an evil deity in shadowdale.

Ava hisses at Maura like a cat!
  " I should have known what i would find here. The one you defend warned us all about the wickedness of hidden hatred that seethes from such as you and your golden boy there!
   All you need is an excuse and all your pseudo sanctity flies out the window, yes a chance to wield your eagar swords that you practice so hard to use, so willing to draw blood, just as long as you can justify it somehow. Do you think your gods are so easily fooled?
   The principle STILL stands. If you stand in the way of righteous judgement, then so be it! But remember, YOU chose the path you take, i did not come after you. Let all of you witeness, if your word has any value at all.
If any of you believe so much in her innocence, do you believe enough to stand in her stead as her champion in a trial by champion?? Ponder your fate carefully."
    With this said, she moves away as quickly as she can . . .

Sister Laura did not stop the woman from leaving, indeed she was also a bit wary of what would happen to her if she decided to stay. She was very troubled by the whole thing, her lips pressed into a thin line and her brow knit as she watched the fire. She kept her hands settled delicately in her lap, pulling her ankles so they tucked under the bench.

She did not say a word, but her disapproval showed. Like a school teacher watching a disorderly class she remained quiet and still.

Her jaw clenched, Maura silently watches Ava scurry off. As soon as she is gone from the area, Maura takes a deep breath to help settle her nerves and turns to leave as well.

(( She would head either East or North, going the opposite direction Ava went. ))

*Airan watches both women depart, then looking back to the campfire with a lofted brow.*

Bryanna wanders by with a pack of children, a kickball, and a big jar of candy that she's handing samples out from liberally as she and the children kick the ball. She sings with them as she goes:

She moves around another building and out of earshot, still singing and playing.
