A paladin in plain clothes speaks to the guards (ironhouse halls)

"Aye tis so they are not called the stout folk for naut. I have nay but the utmost respect for dwarves. a People guided by honor, tradition and faith. Alas some fall to the vices of greed , gluttony and sloth the same as we such is the fate of mortals."

he'd sit down and partake a little of the food offered

"Parfay thou hath mine gratitude for the food and shelter."

He'd pour himself a mug of ale not before raising it to the other dwarves toasting in his best dwarven accent. a word or two that he picked up in his travels

"Hear o'ironhouse i say to thee all Alagh! Findar!"

(Dwarvish: Alagh - glory in battle , Findar - Good fortune)

Elektra would wait in the halls in hopes of seeing Sir Elric for no more than a word with him

A warm smile would tug at Silphie's lips, bowing her head slightly as Elric raised his glass in toast.
"I'm sure the Thane would be pleased to hear youre enjoying the hospitality. Hopefully Cleophus comes soon to help sort this out... Though... i am curious why you chose to come to the halls over the Lathander farms."
She'd sit across the table - folding her hands in her lap, her question purely out curiosity.

"Tis the field of no magic in thine hall... t'would nullify the compulsion of the cursed blade.
Begging thine pardon i wish to take a bit of a walk as it would do me nary good to lay in bed all day."

He'd rise from the table and if siliphie would wish to come with him she may.
He would head to the halls as they are the only area spacious enough for any sort of exercise.
The rest cluttered with the excesses of the thane's ventures.

Elektra would be sitting near the vendor , deep in thought, one hand palm up in her lap, as the other would appear to be scribbling with a finger into it.
Any who might notice might see nothing being written at all, yet her ice blue eyes are heavily focused on that palm... Occasionally she would tilt her head to one side, the tip of her tongue just showing on the other side of her mouth.., as if pondering some discovery in her palm.
Any who might listen close , could hear a thick Moonshe accent whispering from her lips:
" ... Queen to Bishop four... And Knight to ... Yes, yes... It might work!"

as he'd walk down the halls he approaches her with a perk of brow and a smile

"Good day m'lady"

Valtore's brow would knot as his anger flares up and he would drop the keg at her feet. He gives her a disgusted look. "One would best remember yur position Lass." He turns his back to her and after a bit of deep breathing, mumbled prayer, and fist clinching he walks away. "Then put it back Dame Stick-up-yur-arse. I have a sword ta destroy.

He heads down to the forges and goes to the "dark forge" that has been used in the past to destroy vile items brought to the Halls. He looks around for Storm to aid him as he begins to clean and prepare it. He mumbles to himself as doing so.

Ice blue eyes turn up to him, half seeing.
"Ahh... Oh ..Sir Elric ... Lathander's blessing upon you and the wisdom of the Red Knight light out paths.
Sitting here, I hear much said in passing but I don't know the fullness of truth of what may be.
I am sure you have had plenty of thoughts on the past... Yet, sir.. All I can ponder is the future.
It brightens me to see you well. Might I distract you a moment ?
Have you ever played a game called Chess? ... It is a metaphorical simplification of conflict .. Be it war... Or a battle ... Or otherwise ... It teaches and reveals depths of idea and strategy... Where Tempus teaches fairness and honor in war... Red Knight focuses on winning. I will admit some of her ways , at times, may sound as clever trickery, or even deception ... But history remembers wins and losses more than how they were done.
Most devotees of the Red Knight hold it as core to our faith.
If you are over loaded with all this talk , we can speak of such things another time.

She then pulls her blond hair behind her ears and smiles lightly up to him.

*Kali would wave in greeting to angry Valtore as he passed on his way to the forges*

"Gretin there Thane O Ironhouse. Heard ther beh a cursed swor wanderin aroun. Need som help with et?"

Having promised to stay around Rimwood and the Keep until the Sword is destroyed, Cleo whiles restless hours away from his duties at home and at the Dawnspire. He seeks out Valtore, but, seeing him in a foul temper, avoids further provoking the Thane. He seeks out Elric, but, seeing him accosted by a flirtatious Warlock, moves on, a stitch in his brow. He nods a polite hello to Bryanna, but does not stick around.

Not seeing Jay around, just then, Cleo walks outside and closes his eyes, letting the sun warm his face. Well out of the Keep, its darkness, and its suppression of Lathander's blessings, Cleo climbs a lonely little hill. He reaches into his pocket and produces a folded letter. Unfolding it, he reads its brief words.

"Brevity is a virtue, Shadow. But even these few words may prove to be your undoing."

Note in hand, Cleo prays. Prays, and waits.

Valtore would direct Kali to begin to work the bellows. "We need ta stoke tha fire so it is white hot. We need ta use pure fuel ta get it ta burn. Then we will begin ta heat up tha blade, and slowly reform it. If we can do, nought damage we can break tha enchantments in it.

He nods and smiles as she speaks and answers when she speaks of it

"M'lady i confess i am nay a sage in this matters.."

He ponders and says

"What motivates a man to confront the challenges that verily most of
us would run from?
Condemming him to solitude,
exposing him to defeat and death?
The answer is Love.

Tis a strange thing Love.

he looks aside with a seemingly distant gaze and adds

"A strange thing indeed"

his gaze would return upon her with a friendly smile

Silphie Would have came down earlier with Elric, smiling and waving to Cleophus in the main hall before splitting off after the foul tempered Thane quickly, lifting her dress a little so she didn't trip on the bottom hem as she padded after him.

Following his trail to the forges she peeks in, tilting her head slightly as she looks to make eye contact with Val, asking softly "Are you okay?"

Upon seeing silphie his mood visibly brightens. "Fine Lass, Bryanna just spoilin some fun I had in mind." Shrugs "no matters. We have a sword ta break. Perhaps ye could make a suggestion on breaking tha magical enchantments?"

Silphie smiled softly as she saw the Thane's mood improve.
"You know Bryanna is just looking out for you - even if she's staunchly about it."
She would shrug lightly.
"Well.. uhm.. Mordenkainens is a pretty powerful, and probably the best, tool we have as far as breaking enchantments - but I can't touch the weave well enough to cast it in the forge. It should remove the enchantment long enough to destroy the body of the sword at the very least... " She replied thoughtfully, smoothing her white gown.

*Glances over* Are there any possible ill effects to its victim by taking that route?

*Elektra would nod to Elric as he speaks. When his musing comes to a pause , she responds.*

( she gives a slight giggle as she speaks this next line )  You would not believe the different views of love that I have seen in my life.   This love , is beginning to make more and more sense to me than ever. I know few in the Dales would appreciate a self giving sacrifice on my part, but love does not seek appreciation nor applause. .. or so it seems to me.
  Elric, I am faced with an idea that has risen from my study of our situation. It could possibly end me, and yet, it could possibly help us survive. . . I am deeply torn about what to do.

She blinked in though - looking to Bryanna. "I really don't know exactly what will happen after dispelling the sword... To use arcane to help a soul requires blood magic - I think maybe that part is better left to a preist.. I'm sure I can destroy the enchantment on the sword but as far as souls go... I ... I don't like casting that type of magic..."

A Brown cloaked & hooded figure wanders into the Halls, looking about. She would see Elektra and Elric talking, and would glide over softly towards them dipping her head to the both.

Well met, Sir Elric, Miss Elektra. I trust all is well with you both. Word travels fast and My ear heard much. I was wondering where the blade is now?

She would speak from under the Hood, Never lifting it.

"I am a nay a stranger to scorn Elektra. Oddly enough at times by the very people i spill my blood in defence of. I nay hate them mayhap a little but more so i am sad for them. to not recognize virtue means a life bereft of it and tis a poor life."

he scratches the back of his head

"My love for the goodly folk where ever they be need not be requited for me to commit to goodly actions m'lady. Tis the essance of a paladin.

I nay wish for thee to become a paladin but i believe thou should learn this: Do good not because thine efforts will be rewarded or praised. verily they may cometh a time when thou would feel the entire world stands against thee. To truely be righteous is to be able to stand up to the whole world if need be and say Nay! i shan't forsake my kindness and selflessness.

Understand what thou will of it and accept or do not what thou shall. i shan't impose on thee.
Tis what i believe in and i pray with each dawn that i will continue doing so."


He shakes his head

Now is not the time for this talk my apologies t'would seem my thoughts are still in disarray. speak to me somewhere in private about this idea.. tis good to do what is right but thine life is a precious thing.

He looks to the newcomer

She lowers her hood, Chuckling

"Oh By the Mother, It would be a dangerous thing, to wander about blinded by this hood. Now as to the Reason I have come. The Blade May I look at it. 'Tis a wonderful gift of the Gods to send such a rarity. By the Mother's hand, It is not Chauntean, As I meditated and Scryed on this, Praying to the Mother for Answers."

Elric says:

Not even the fires of all the hells could change it. Now, I am finally free, and my heart for folks of the Dales has not been diminished by the hate of others. "

 "I will not burden you now , good sir , but know this.. If I... a simple maid ... With a chain upon her soul , was able to destroy waves of undead at our Keep, and maintain my love for the needs of others , certainly you... Most certainly you ... will rise again. For as the love of Sune quenched the fires of darkness that burned at me constantly, how much more will Lathanders light destroy the shadows that this trickery of the blade  may have left you with!
    If my small example can cast any hope to you now, then all I have suffered with was not in vain..."
