A paladin in plain clothes speaks to the guards (ironhouse halls)

"Nay no blood magic! We will prepare tha forge. Get tha flames white hot. Bryanna can gather a vat of holy water fur us ta quench tha sword in as we heat it. If we do that over and over again it should crack and break tha materials. Slowly bits will break off as we heat and pound it ta be burnt in tha flames. Kali can handle tha bellows, Storm can quench, while I hammer it." He looks around to see if each understands thier job. "When we be ready ta start Silphie can cast tha spell on tha top of tha Keep. Then bring it here so we can start. Bryanna..see if Cleo is around ta start blessin water...we'll need a fair amount." With the orders given he turns back to continue preparing the forge and answer questions.

Bryanna smiles, sitting down cross-legged on the keg to make sure it isn't going anywhere. "Oh there's no need for me to go anywhere Thane. I can bless the water myself."

"Aye Bryanna? And how will ye Bless tha water in a dead magic area? It has ta be water aswell as that" he points to the keg "will alight in tha heat of tha sword. So get some water." He turns to Silphie and the guard. "Lady Silphie here will prepare her spell on tha roof of tha Keep. When she is ready bring her tha sword. I have tha forge just about set."

Bryanna gives the Thane a final warning look. She then heads to see to the water.

He nods approvingly at Elektra and says:

"Thine travel on the road to redemption is progressing well. please excuse me as i wish to walk a bit... i have been idle for too long"

He walks off alone. At the corner of his eyes he sees another woman almost as handsome as Elektra and he walks a step before grasping his head in shock and vomiting in a nearby corner.

He'd slump on the ground not far from the aforementioned vomit chanting to himself "My faith is my shield. My faith is my shield...." repeating on and on

"My faith is my shield. My faith is my shield...."

"Thank you for the help Storm, it shouldn't take us too long." She smiles at him as they exit to get the holy water seen to.

Outside, Cleo suddenly opens his eyes. He rifles through his satchel for a bit of parchment and charcoal, and begins hurriedly to write two nearly identical notes.

He folds and seals them, then hastily descends the little hill to approach the nearest of the Akh'Velahr captains who guard the Rimwood.

Showing his Councilor's pin, he begs their indulgence in seeing to it that both letters are delivered with all due haste.

If successful in getting the letters on their way, Cleo turns and heads inside.

*He walks with Bryanna to get what was needed for blessing the waters. He would chat with her while helping out.*

"Looks like Thanes mood has improved a bit." *He grins as he looks at her.* "How has he been healing? I've been respectful enough to not pry into it, but, it did have me worried fer a bit. Still does I suppose. He seems to get cheered up when he sees Silphie."

*He muses as he picks up a barrel of water to carry for her, hoisting it on his shoulder with his familiar wide grin.*

Maura, having returned to the Dales with Kalthanar and Emily after a week-long trip to Waterdeep, gets the tired young tiefling, Emily, settled in their room at the Halls. Maura then decides to walk to the tavern to look for a familiar face and check in with her friends in Ironhouse.

(( I have decided that they paid a mage for use of teleportation/portal magic to get there and back. They're adventurers. They have those resources. lol ))

Finding Elric slumped in a hallway, Cleo cries out his name, then approaches him, kneeling beside him and doing a quick but thorough check of his vitals.

He does whatever he can to ease the man's suffering, based on his symptoms, using the healing agents he carries in his satchel at all times. Once he is satisfied that Elric is safe to move, he says:

"Come, brother. Let's get you to your quarters. This travail will be over soon, and we have much to discuss."

Later, when Elric is resting, Cleo begs a bucket of water and a rag from one of the dwarves. Anyone who noticed would see him in the hallway, cleaning up his brother's sick.

Aye... brother. he slowly rises to his feet and heads to his bunk in the barracks

Upon relieving the Thane's instructions Silphie would have head off to prepare. Walking quickly she'd go through the library and into the adjoining tower; entering her bedroom she would remove all of her magical belongings - locking them away in her wardrobe.

Moving to stand in front of a small alcove in her bedroom wall where a small decorated marble statue stood, she'd bow her head and fold her hands - praying silently to the shrine for safety.
Opening her eyes she would reach out to the adorned statue of Azuth, removing a pendant from around it's shoulders and place the necklace around her own neck.

She wouldn't spend much longer in her room before heading up to the keeps roof - bare footed in her white gown with the holy symbol Corellon hanging from her neck. She would set to work; drawing carefully she would create a large circle of protection, much like the ones in the summoning room at the academy.

At the gates, far from where the knight sits in the hall, a woman with a red ribbon knocks at the large gates. She stands at the door, her arm crooked with a basket nested against her. She smiles to the dwarves who peer out at her. It is a worried smile, but the warmth of it still touches her eyes.

"I'm sorry to bother you. I came to make certain Sir Elric is alright...if there is anything I can do?" Laura asks politely. "I hear your Thane is ill too, so I thought I'd come visit them both and bring them something to eat."

As the forge is now set and heating up Valtore goes up to the roof. He hands Silphie the Loremaster glasses he has to help her with setting the circle if she would.like them. Either way he just waits as she works for the sword to arrive.

She'd happily accept the use of vals glasses - taking her time to painstakingly draw the circles. When she was finished she'd move to sit with Val and wait, carefully looking over her work with the glasses once more.

She takes one sad look back at Elric and then leaves, unaware of the events unfolding elsewhere in the dwarven fortress.

Bryanna and Storm would soon rejoin Valtore, accompanied by the prepared barrel of holy water.

A short time later Grimlee meets those on the roof with the sword in hand

"Pour tha water intake tha vat by tha forge Lad" Valtore asks Storm. "Once Silphie does her thin I will bring tha sword down. Dame Bryanna will ye make sure Silphie is alright once I leave with tha sword? I want ta act quickly so tha enchantment doesn't revive or something..." he looks at Silphie with a bit of pride and worry on his face. Knowing the risk she is taking to help the paladin.

"Aye Thane."

An even more haggard and gray-pale skinned elric is usually frequenting the dwarven tavern. he'd drinking a hefty amount of whisky. always sitting alone away from anyone else.

In between his drinks he can be heard chanting:

"Unveil, O Thou who givest sustenance to the land, from whom all life nurtures, to whom i must return, that face of the Rising Sun now hidden by a cloud of darkness, that i may see the truth and do mine whole duty on mine journey to thy sacred seat."
