Rimwood buildingsite

*Storm randomly looks over at the hill where Celovar can be seen, stopping his work to see what he is doing. He walks over with a wave.*

Ho there Celovar! Whatcha messing with there?

"Wood."

He replies before looking back at his project. After a moment he turns back to Storm.

"Keep your mouth shut on this alright? But I am making furniture for my children and I intend to surprise them with those bunk beds. Valtore gave me the idea about it when we were in the bandit den and they used them."

*He nods at Celovar.*

"Aye then Celovar, me lips be sealed. If ye need help, don't hesitate to call fer me. I'm gonna get back to work."

*Storm heads back to helping with the Rimwood building.*

Valtore is overseeing the digging of a number of large long holes down to the bedrock to build the walls on. When he sees Mineva he waves her over. "Lass, will be needed ta remove a number of trees. Ye could help chop 'em down..." here he smirked lightly "or ye could scare up one of them druids ta ask 'em if they could animate them and politely ask 'em ta move." He gazes over towards Celovar "however I would hurry as it looks ta me like he is lookin fur more lumber."

"Appreciate it Storm"

He gives a small smirk looking up to Mineva whom gives him a mock salute. It appears he appreciates the half gesture of respect and sarcasm.

"As the Thane says you can dig, cut down some trees, or maybe find a druid to ask them to see if they can move the trees instead of cutting them down."

Bryanna for her part stays around the edges of the area, running water and food to the various work groups. She she seems to avoid anything mildly related to structural work, seeming rather keen on not demonstrating her inability to stack to rocks together without it falling over. When asked to do anything not related to the actual construction, she readily jumps in to help.

"Better go ask the druids and see how they feel about it."

Mineva would not need to venture far if she was (still) looking hard enough, given that the lone watcher from a distance arrived in Rimwood frequently, waiting and observing the dwarves and elves. Lhanir's lips were pulled tight to reflect a pensive mood as she stepped closer to the visible shoreline, just beside the river.

She watched Mineva approach with a calm regard, inwardly remembering the girl's name by face. At her question, Lhanir chuckled.

"Of course I do, Mineva. Is that what the dwarves plan to -not- do, what with all this destruction?" To emphasize on her last word, a gloved hand gestured to their surrounding, and beyond towards the building site where the golems stood and stone was piled.

The ArchDruidess followed after Mineva silently, passing over the creek with ease. Once they were close to the site her attention settled on the nearest faces, looking for a familiar one, perhaps one of a higher rank. Despite half of her face being masked by carved wood, it was apparent to the instinctive that she was far from pleased.

Valtore is currently digging a trench down to the bedrock with others for the walls to be built not far from the Hall entrace.

Valtore looks up from the hole. "well thank ye Lass fur bringin her over. If ye could get tha Lads here some drinks tis hard work. Also Ask Jeeves if he can repair that Logger if ye could." Valtore turns to Storm "Just keep diggin toards tha river. We need ta make a strong defence from drow and undead attacks." He then climbs out of the hole to stand before the druid. "So did Mineva ask ye if ye can get them trees ta move so we don't have ta chop 'em down?"

Dwarves digging holes, good to see something never changes. Wouldn't you say so Druidess?

A medium sized silver dragon lands atop the stones, the ones with the golem next to it, and looks down over the gathering.

Mylanis isn't that far behind either. Though she seems content with merely taking in the changes to the area first, letting the others debate.

The dragon speaks again.

Now, what's actually going on here?

At Valtore's words, Lhanir sighed, her words calm but stern. "Is that what this is about? You presume the attacks of undead and drow at your... 'doorstep'? What gives you the right to ask the trees to move, lest you chop them down? What if they were there before you?"

When the dragon approached she glanced over and up in its direction. To the magical beast she repeated her words, more or less with the same tone. "It appears they are uprooting all of this area of Rimwood for their benefit."

"Here longer? Ye really expect kewl ta put me kinsfolk like tha man there digging or tha lass who ye just met in danger ta save some trees? We are not clear cuttin tha forest. We be buildin from tha keep ta tha river. Tis about six trees that are younger then I am. If I didna care about 'em I would have just let Celovar chop 'em down ta make a table. Trees can be regrown. If mineva gets killed by a drow arrow she is gone and canna be replaced. Ye kind never cared when ye messed with me Clan's sacred hill so I would watch ye phrasing Lass. We could take up sellin furniture ta tha locals in Shadowdale."

Valtore turns to the dragon and speaks to it in draconic "well met friend. It is good to see you about. I hope mylanius is not far away. I have not seen nor heard much from her husband or kin in a while now. I was hoping to repair our relations. With the bold attacks of drow, fall of Free Haven and seeing increased drow movements in the tunnels beneath North Ridge we are concerned about the safty of those who call the Halls home. So we plan to build strong defensive walls between the keep and the river. I wish to make as little an impact on nature as we can but we have to do some. The walls need to be down to the bedrocl and the trees need to be removed. I was hoping they could be kept alive. But if not then that is just the way of things. We can grow new trees much like the Lyons did before. Intact these trees are only a year or so old due to the Shadovar attack if I remember correctly. Yes?"
